Ok, this is a story about three FOnewearls who live in an apartment block called Aurora. I am new here, so hello!
Lazuli lay down in her bed, her long blue hair spilling over the pillow, locked in her own sadness. Her mind fluttered back to that day nine months ago, her last sight of Coral.
She would never forget it. The once sapphire sky had turned red as blood, and the planet rumbled its death throws. Coral was tearing itself apart, many of its major cities were levelled in the earthquakes, claiming the lives of millions. A tear trickled down her cheek, blurring her face paint, as she thought of those she had loved, of every life that had ended. Her mother, father and baby sister had all been killed in an earthquake. Her fists clenched and she forced herself not to cry, to scream. And she thought on. A ferry had shuttled her and other refugees to Pioneer 2, their chariot to a new home. She recalled how the rubble of Coral's capital, Nausiccea had faded, and the ravaged planet, blue, like a sparkle in the heart of a opal, and the eternal stars. And Pioneer 2, shining, sparkling, the lights of its city. Lazuli
had loved it, as she recalled that living breathing metropolis, and the stars in the sky.
Now she hated it. The cold metal ground, those intimidating buildings, tge lack of solitude. All she wanted was to walk in a forest, under a warm sun. And she was frightened too. Terified should the ship's life support failed.
She shook her head. There was no time to wallow in misery. She had to get on with her day.
Erina was feeling sad too. Through her glasses she surveyed her small, bleak room. No amount of posters and ornaments could cheer her up, they were so, so lifeless. No, what she wanted were flowers. Bright cheerful blossoms, cacti, emerald leaves. She cocked her head to one side, as she imagined the lush green apartment that was hers on Coral. Flowers everywhere. All gone now. She had been forbidden to take plants aboard Pioneer 2, only food crops where allowed. Her baby cactus could destroy an ecosystem, and wipe out native plants. Now matter how much she pleaded, threatened, cursed, wept, barganed, it was the same. No plants, love, or you stay on Coral. "No, miss, you could damage Ragol's ecosystem!" Erina muttered, imitating a Pioneer offical.
More tommorow!
Melody smoothed out the creases in her blue suit, and fluffed out the pom pom on her beret. She smiled sadly, these clothes were her last scraps of Coral, the planet that had once been her home. She stepped elegantly to the mirror and thought. A lazy day in Nausiccea's shopping mecca, Nine Moon City. And a boutique painted black with patterns the colour of starlight. And on the bargain shelf was an adorable blue outfit, with a matching hat and platforms. And she knew she had to have them. A smile of a happy day lit up her face. And the refelection smiled back.
Lazuli decided to feed the Mags. Into the kitchen she strode. By the sink was a box of Monomate Mag Treats. She picked it up and shook it, and made kissing sounds. There was a clatter and severa squeals. Into the kitchen floated three Satos, Lazuli's pink one, Erina's sky blue and Melody's purple. Trailing along back fluttered a Bhima, who was everybody's.
"Yum, yum, Mags, come eat, my babies!" coaxed Lazuli. She tipped the treats into four bowls, and stepped back. The Mags pounced on their bowls, and devoured the treats with record pace. The purple Sato and the blue sato floated to their owner's rooms for a cuddle. The Bhima, who liked a nap after a meal, flitted over to his pillow for a snooze. The pink Sato hovered expectantly.
"You wanna hug my baby?" asked Lazuli. She embraced the Sato, who purred happily.
Pretty good...uh...thats it...no other comments.
With the Mags fed and happy, Lazuli cupped her hands around her mouth and called.
"Melody, Erina, is there anything you want from the shops?"
Erina peeped shyly from her room and said:
"I would like some Vegecrisps, please."
Melody twirled out of her room and pulled a tragic expression.
"Oh, Lazuli, pleeese, buy me another bangle. Preeety pleeeease? I lost mine."
"Ok, bye bye everybody, I should be back in an hour." Lazuli pulled her favorite stripy scarf from the hook. Then she realized. Pioneer 2 was heated, there was no need for a scarf. Well, it was a very nice scarf, a present from Melody. Who cared? She wound it around her neck and stepped out into the corridor, her sato following.
Lazuli took the elevator to the ground floor. The entrance to Aurora glowed for a brief moment, and hummed open.
Even after all this time, Lazuli was still suprised. No wind? Oh, that's right, no wind on Pioneer 2.

Whilst contemplating this, she slammed right into something that was running very fast.
"Oooffuck!" she wheezed as the stranger's hand smacked the breath from her lungs.
Lazuli and the stranger both landed in an graceless tangle. She wriggeled free and held out her hand.
"You ok?" she gasped, still sucking down air. She looked at the heap on the ground and saw a black hat, tipped by a madly swinging crystal. A pair of dark pointed ears peeped out of the strange headwear, and a cascade of blue curls.
"Okish" said the newcomer. She twisted her body into a standing postion. Her skin was dark, and her face was covered with face paint, something very fashionable among the Newman youth. Her outfit was black, with blue decorations. Around her neck was a black velvet ribbon, on proudly displayed was a ruby emblem, a Redira ID, showing that this newman was a hunter.
"Hi" she said. "My name is Pleione. I was looking for somewhere to stay." The expression on her face was very serious, and her eyes were flicking around anxiously. "Do you know a hotel or somewhere?"
Lazuli could see sweat was beading Pleione's face, and a thought smacked into her mind.
She could be in a lot of trouble. She looks scared shitless. C'mon Lazuli, let her stay with you, if she is that scared I don't think she will risk you throwing her out. And besides, all your meseta is in the bank. It is not like she will want any of your tacky shit.
Lazuli took a deep breath. "OK, you can stay with me and my friends. We FOnewearls gotta look out for eachover. But mind you, if you turn out to be an asshole, out you go."
Plieonoe let out a squeal, and threw her arms around Lazuli. "Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! OH SHIT! MY STUFF!" Pleione's case of belongings had been thrown onto the ground during the collision, and her things scattared onto the ground. There where clothes, books, old toys, a rod, and even a white Sato, blinking with confusion.
i found it really good but it would be fun with some extra info about those girls but thats not really neceserry! great job!
Thank you, that makes me very happy!
I was considering calling it quits since I did not have much feedback. But I am pretty pleased you two wrote back.
Don't worry, sr388, I want the distinct personalities of Lazuli, Erina, Melody and Pleione come out, but through the story as it progresses, rather then a big fat paragraph on each on at the beginning, I want the readers to discover the charas for themselves, not have me explain every little thing.

Pleione practicly flung herself at the ground, and snatched up a moth eaten doll, a copy of Force's Digest magazine, and a tub of Candy Skin face paint.
Lazuli eyed the scattared belongings with suspicion, looking carefully for anything like a bag of marijuana. Guilt trickeled into her mind. She should be helping. Sheepishly, she scooped a t-shirt and a bottle of water into the bag.
A few minutes later, once the bag was carfully packed, Lazuli gestured towards the direction of Apartment Block Aurora. Pleione nodded, and the two plodded towards it, with the Satos floating behind.
Erina lay curled into a foetal position on her bed. Her mind was blank, and she slowly breathed in and out.

Erina pulled her body out from the blanket, and yawned. The Sato on her lap stirred sleepily.
"I wonder when Lazuli will be back." she mused. Perching on the side of her bed and listened. Her sensitve newman ears twitched, yes, she could hear footsteps coming from down the corridor outside. But two sets of footsepts?
Somebody new to see? But what if they were evil, and made fun of her glasses and haircut, like a lot of people did?
She gingerly picked up her specs, and tiptoed to her door. Peeping around the frame, she fixed her eyes hungrily on the door. Melody too had heard the footsteps and too watched expectantly.
"Better not be that cunt warden." she mouthed at Erina.
Ooh, Erina had not thought of that. The warden was an evil old harpy.
The front door opened with a murmour. Lazuli and Pleione raised their hands in greeting.
Oooh, she waved, thought Erina. She looks nice, not a bitch at all.
"Pleione, this is Melody, and Erina. They are your new room mates." said Lazuli.
"Room mates?" said Melody looking confused. Then she looked as if she wanted to scowl, but was trying hard not to.
"Oh, a new roomie!" whispered Erina happily. "How nice!" She flitted from her room and wrapped her arms around Pleione's stomach.
Melody smiled too. "Let's have nachos! And some dip!" Melody stampeded to her room, then brought out a family sized bag, and a tup that a small animal could have drowned in. "Oh fuck!" she groaned. "No beer! Lazuli, Erina, have you been at my mini cooler, you clitoris bandits?"
