Yes, online, you can change the ID of the game, not the ID of you character.
So if you spot a rare monster, but want the drop from another ID, change to that ID.
The best way for you is to learn all the tekkers.
If Player A is Viridia, and creates the team, you play Forest, a Pal Rappy appears, you want a Red Partisan, instead of a Red Scorpio.
Then find a Player B who would be Whitill, when you friend is with you (he does not have to go to Forest, rare monsters do not disappear if you leave to Pioneer 2 online, but that would save walking back to it), you leave the game, then re-enter.
When you have re-rentered your game, you and your friend should both go to an area and pipe back to Pioneer 2. Once back on Pioneer 2, go check the tekker. If the TWO of you see the Whitill tekker, then the ID is now Whitill and no longer Viridia, you can go kill the Pal Rappy and hope for Red Partisan.
Simple, heh?
