OK, here is the next part of the story. We are going back to Ragol for a while now.
In the depths of the ruins, two figuires hastened. At first glance no-one would assume a FOnewm and a HUcaseal would make likely companions, working team maybe, teacher and student, bodyguard and target, least of all lovers.
And yet the android and her lover walked deep into that forsaken place, and they were never more then a few steps away. They had been in the ruins for so long now, their time on the Central Dome, their apartment together seemed like a dream.
As they entered the third section of the ruins, Alura gazed at the walls with interest. Each section of the ruins had been different, and this one was the most startling of all.
"Nelene" called Alura, softly. The slender FOnwm, who was only 16, turned slightly, bells and bracelets tinkling as he did so.
"Yes?" he replied.
"Have you seen the walls?"
"I know. It's gross, isn't it?"
"It looks like, I don't know. Like the organs of a giant creature. Like a whale"
"Inside a whale. Not a pleasant thought."
On the walls, fleshy masses and organs pulsated and gurgled, beating hearts, squelching stomachs. Neurones glittered along walls. The pair stared at the living ruins, wondering how this could be.
A malevolent hiss sounded out of the shadows.
Aulura whipped around, quick as a reflex.
"Dimeans!" She cried. With a glitter of programming code, her chakrams buzzed into existance.
Nelene unfolded his Mahu with a flick, and instantly began chanting a spell.
"Wheel of flames, protect us.
GIFOIE!"
A ring of scorcing flames spiralled from the Mahu, and engulfed the Dimeans with greed. But when the last ember died, the Dimeans looked the opposite, albeit very burned.
A smirk lit up Alura's face.
"Sorry little witch, looks like Alura needs to sort this out."
With a warcry she cannoned into the nearest Dimean, and swung her chakrams. With a scream and a bubble of purple blood, the creature dissolved, to the fury of its companions. Aulura cackled wickedly. Whizzing through the air, she threw her weapons, and they sliced through the creatures, hacking off a sword, or a leg. The mutilated beasts roared in pain and hunger, and limped towards the two who had dared to challange them.
Nelene instantly began murmering another incantation.
"Flames of the Goddess, hear my cry.
RAFOIE!"
Instantly, the nearest Dimean burned red-hot, howling. Then the creature's flesh flew apart with a fiery nova. The rest of the Dimeans could not escape the raviging flames, and were completely consumed, their death screams drifting away, and then silence.
Silence.
Aulura withdrew her chakrams, which left her hands free. Nelene slipped his Mahu away. Aulura nibbled a pointed ear affectionatly.
"That was fun, of course, it was only because I weakned them, that your fireworks had an affect."
Nelene scowled.
Aulura laughed. "Awww shucks Nelene, even if you could not frazzle a fly, I would still love you. An' sides, you have ruined me for other men."
"Whaa...?"
She twiddled a strand of his long, silvery hair and grinned.
"Remember that night before we had to come down here...?"
"Yes." Nelene smiled.
"You're too good in the sack to dump. Hours and hours, they'd melt me down if I was mad enough to leave you."
Nelene whispered, "And I still know all those little tricks. I'll make you remember them when we get back, oh so curvy one."
"Good, but-"
she took a handful of silvery hair.
"You need a haircut. WAAAAAY! Too long."
"What about your hair?"
"My hair?" asked Alura reaching up to her bald scalp.
"You look like a lesbian."
"Homophobic are we?"
"No, but-"
"Fine." A crop of bubblegum pink curls erupted from the top of her head.
"Happy now?" she asked.
"Yup."
"Now studly, I believe there are some more suicidal Demenians around the corner. Let's help them shake off their mortal coil, right?"
