i remember fsod/bsod from the dc days. man it was scary....but i know there was one trick on the dc im not sure if it works on gc. but i think its something like you just unplug the phone wire from the modem and wait like 20-60 min (what ever you feel comfy with) and then turn off the dc, and all your items and chars are still there unharmed. I think it had something to do with the game thinking you timed out or something...and it saves and quits for you after like 15min.
