I have a sort of 'pack', so to speak, myself. But, as I'm sure many/all of us do, I have a lot of friends; therefore several different groups of people that I hang out with. A leader is someone who is a sort of authority figure or someone whom others look up to. Too many people are taking the cowards way out, and that's only for people who are...well cowards.
I'd like to point out that looking up to an individual and following them are two completely different things. Looking up to one is someone who perhaps is your role model or person who you greatly admire. A follower, as opposed to a leader, is a person that does not think for themselves; one who does as the leader does, no matter the cost or how they actually feel about such actions. *sigh* Unfortunately, more followers exist than leaders.
That is all, for now.

Sometimes it's hard to put faith in people and give them the benefit of a doubt. I try and give it to people, but there have been those individuals who constantly hurt or disappoint me. I try not to take it out on others, and realize that everyone is different.
It is disturbing though that so many people seem to be falling so low. I can understand the fault of putting someone on a pedestal and having them fall off, as we are only human, but people should be able to live up to base expectations...I've had to be a leader to some of my friends, and I know I get disappointed when they fail to live up to what they could be, but with many it is a choice they make. Try and give the people you think deserve it, the benefit of a doubt...
"You know you can't stop me but you continue to try all the same. That's whats so appealing about you..."

Anyone foolish or weak enough to allow themselves to be 'led' by another, are pathetic. that, is MY view.
I do not care for leading myself... I merely use someone for as long as they can further my own ends. Usually.
The five are an exception obviously.
By the way, the D&D explanation of NEUTRAL EVIL ALIGNMENT fits me to a tee.
The more you know...

I say that yes there are leaders and yes there are followers, but I also believe that some friendships are nuetral. That is how me and my best friend are, we give each other advice, we ask eachother what the other one wants to do. I think that that's how true friendship is supposed to be. But if I had to pick which would best fit me, admittingly I would be the follower. Not because I do what ever the other person tells me to do, but because I like to learn from other people. Leaders could be considered followers too, if you think about it. I mean leaders check up on the followers and they too learn. I can't really put this in words right now, but its what I belive. Hope it helps some way or another.

Being a leader does not give you authority to tell people what to do... It mearly helps you gain the trust to give helpful suggestions...
If you are a bossy leader... your freinds drift from you... but if you keep looking out for their best interests, then you should eventually gain their trust...
(Take it from someone with a REAL authority problem)
Potential return to glory with PSO2?
