question about berserk special

I use Berserk 24/7 (Excalibur, Heaven Striker), and I very rarely die, it happens, but very rarely.

Which is exactly why charge abusers suck. Charge is the cheapest special ever, do not use it.

... -.- i disagree. people cant use one of the best specials becuz it kicks ass? thats like saying dont use hucasts because they have too much atp or dont use ramarl becuz their too good.

Once you get used to using berserk then you won't die. The first time you use it then you will obviously just waste all your HP away, do something stupid - then die. I have done that too.

Once you know your limits you will berserk to within the amount of HP you think is safe and act accordingly. If I'm only in ult Forest, then I will make sure I have Jellen and Deband and go nuts. If I am in ult Desert I will berserk to an amount of HP I think is safe and either wait for Resta or just Resta myself and go on. As long as you know what is safe and what isn't - berserk is one of the best specials there is. Hey, if you have the skill (like Kef, lolz) you can go nuts with berserk in any area and remain safe. It's not ridiculously hard to avoid getting smacked around.

As for charge: I think it's cheap, noobish and needs to be nerfed. I jump for joy at the fact you can't add it to S-Ranks.

But each class has its handicaps... HUcasts need support from the FO to really be good, and RAmarls, well, they don't seem to do quite as well online as offline (mine has had low-ATP issues in the past which is one of the reasons I put berserk on her twin). Berserk's handicap is that it takes a bit of skill and foresight not to get yourself killed after using it... Spirit's is that it can leave you without the energy to Resta at the wrong time... Charge? No handicap. Lack of meseta has never been, nor ever will be a significant handicap.

I like beserk for the insane damage it deals out ....oh yeah and dieing isn't an issue really(always get resta'd by mag)

'you look noobish' ok then, take the person that called you noobish and shoot them with a charge laser. theyll soon get the idea WHY you use it.

while i dont normally use it (too disorganised) on stuff like the vjaya its amazing, and just learn to not care about the fact it hasnt got a drawback, use that to your advantage.

Well ok, let's go ahead and say that every cheap move in, say, every fighting game ever made should be abused ad nauseum. Remember the original Super Smash Brothers? Kirby ruled in it, but he was sooooo cheap (I had a friend who I would have a Kirby-contest with occasionally... ahh, those were the days ). Eh, sorta beside the point... the point is, there are some things that, if you can't win without them, then maybe you just don't deserve to win. :ermm: That's sort of the rationale behind calling anything cheap.

Abusing charge will teach you nothing and make the game boring. Using berserk, you will learn to be more skilled in surviving and playing in general. What will charge teach you other than 'LOL MONSTA DIEZ'? It's not fun to play the game like that, in my opinion.

The downsides to Charge are that, yeah it's pretty cheap (and it kind of makes it too easy once you're strong enough), and it will hog EXP like crazy on a 50% hit Vulcan in multiplayer. Beserk though, if used wrong, will kill you. Even if used right, overusing it can still tick off the team FO in multiplayer due to having to constantly use Resta.

Just use whatever specials you want on your weapons. I personally, prefer none. I rarely use mine. Maybe Chaos on the Rainbow Baton, and the FS's freeze, but for the most part I rarely use specials. That's just my preference though, some may like Charge, others Beserk, and some even Spirit.

... about the Charge special on the Vjaya, it's not the normal thing. It drains 10k Meseta every swing, whether or not you hit, and it deals 6 times a Normal attack, not 4x.
