I didn't like Kung Fu Hustle. It was...disturbing in many a sense.

heh, i'd say there is a reason that the DVD is out for several months now and still didnt get reduced in price. that movie plain rocks in its own very special way. if you arent fond of that storytelling style then its fine ^^
but stephen chow is undenyably the new jackie chan - and a brilliant director - the new big star for the hongkong movie industry. anyone seen the uncut version (i mean the one with the shaolin monk intro, not the miramax version) of shaolin soccer?

Excuse the language.....as I have pretty much stopped using the 'four letter words' of thy non-existent fallible God, but:
Why the fuck has no one said anything about Ong Bak? The movie had a great storyline. That actually seemed plausible, had great fucking fight scenes, and knowing that everything they're doing has no special effects just makes it a keeper. I've watched it three times and I plan on watching it some more. The DVD extras are pretty damn cool too. It demonstrates the 8 'traditional' movements of Muay Thai, which is one of the harshest martial arts on the planet, and the most brutal. What can you not love.......well except that Thai chick.....her voice gets very old, very very very quickly. Excuse the language again..... ^_^; ![]() "How fortunate for those in power that people do not think"-Adolf Hitler

ong bak was a really good movie. i remember rewinding the fighting scenes to watch them twice just because they were so awesome (and unusual). theres a successor, but i dont remember the name right now ^^

Is it Tom-Yum_Goong? I really like Ong Bak, and i quite like kung fu hustle too.
Has anyone seen the latest Zatoichi movie with Takeshi Kitano? It uses animated blood which i usually dont like but it works quite well. So has anyone seen it? ![]() Dont know the answer? Just ask Dkgamer.

zatoichi is a really nice movie. the musical scenes still crack me up even after watching it a few times. and kitano is just brilliant anyway.

Yes, Renako, I've seen the original version of Shaolin Soccer. XD
Ong Bak really was a great movie. Sorry we didn't mention it yet, Kiwi. But you should have put your input in earlier if it was bothering you so much. That movie had some great fight scenes in it, and they never get old, because they're so...unique, one might say.Haven't seen any of the other's mentioned.. ![]() |
