I think Nintendo is going to win the up coming war. I say this because not only am I a fan of Nintendo but have you seen the other two systems. Microsoft realeased their 360 too soon and as a reasult it has lots of glitches and bugs no to mention it has a fire hazard for a powerpak. Now the PS3 remains to be seen but from the looks of it, it should do well but the controller looks like a silver boomerang and according to reports it's going to be released until '07 I think it might be because of the Blue ray disks. The revolution offers tons of games and a crazy looking controller and backwards compatiblity which I hope works unlike to 360.

are you mad? ninty will do well to get half the market share! xbox 360 was released too soon, and it is slightly glitchy, but the fact that revolution doesnt support high definition means that although very few people will actually use it, they still want to be able to say 'yay, i have HD!' also, the backwards compatibility will be.... interesting.. with GC games- the controller has a+b, no x+y though! (unless they make sockets for GC controllers *hopes*)

Sadly, that's very true.

You'll be pleased to know that this is the case. Big Grin

there ARE sockets for cube controllers. as well, you can use the pad-plugin for the remote controll, which ends up looking like a wavebird.

personally, i'll buy the console which has a few games that interest me (preferably for a reasonable pricetag too). seeing as the first wave is usually junk anyway, its a wise choice to skip it entirely.

I'm just thinking...Star Wars games are going to have to be sold on this. The remote is going to link to a lightsaber. I'm no big Star Wars fan, but I can see about 5 games for it right off the bat. And samurai games. And baseball games. And a couple other million games. Big Grin Hahahaha...

Well it is possible that the revolution could release a cord that allows HD support like the 360. It isn't just HD and has a cord for those wo don't have it just yet.

H.D. support-categorically NO.
Nintendo have stated that this would push up costs in all areas. Does this matter? No. 95% of gamers will be plugging in to a standard CRT tv set anyway so any graphical improvements the other 2 consoles have wont show that much. At launch there will be pretty to look at titles. Please people remember the first Star wars game for cube at launch? How gorgeous did that look?
Release date-Almost guaranteed to be Nov.2006 Japan, with U.S. and europe to follow very closely indeed.
Price-Definitely lower than 40.000 yen/$300/200gbp.
Market share-anyones guess atm.My own personal opinion from studying reasonable ps3/x360 forums is that Revolution will be bought as a second console by these owners as more of a curiosity than anything else considering the almost guaranteed lower price of hardware and software. We are back to the days of $80/60gbp game prices with ps3, as blu-ray/ps3 dev.costs are huge-believe.Ironically this would result in the new Ninty console actually being market leader without trying. Lets hope that train of thought continues..lol.

Lastly a bit of my own educated Nintendo revolution speculation.
All over the 'net there are many wild theories on what the supposed last big Rev. secret is. Let me enlighten you all lol, i believe its not a headset or other such outlandish(expensive) thing. i reckon that the last secret for the Rev. will be a built in screen and rechargeable battery pack. Ok so the rev is supposedly the size of three dvd cases then. Try this, put three cases together stacked and then open the top case. Imagine it as a rev and think how you have just d/loaded some old snes games then go and play the outside in the sunshine/fresh air. Yes it kinda becomes a large DS really but i think this is a very plausible thought and COULD be the reason Nintendo are so tight-lipped about it, considering they have been banging on about portability etc. This kind of tech. is not expensive at all(DS is cheap,2 screens built in battery pack etc) and certainly would be "revolutionary" in a home console.
