my point of view on hacking duping and stacking

Hacking online = Totally low, I'd tell 'em to jump off a cliff.
Hacking offline = No biggy, tell 'em to keep to themselves.

Duping online = Not too big... I just don't wanna be corrupted.
Duping offline = I don't give a hoot.

Netnomad, hackers in the lobby activate a lobby reload, this makes a double save, then they use the FSOD, the game is paused during a save, so the FSOD dosent occur while the game is saving. The first save happens, then in the gap between the first and second save when the game is not paused the FSOD kicks in. An interruption between these two saves acts like an interruption in the middle of one, corruption. The second save never gets to occur, thats the problem. Yet on PSO+, there is no double save. So a save happens, then after that there is FSOD, but because it dosent need a second save there is no 'gap' to target after the first save so no freakin' problem! Oh no, you lose all your currently held meseta, who gives a damn?

Types of FSOD and side effects

Lobby FSOD - Lose Meseta

Game FSOD - Lose Meseta and any un equipped and un banked items

Lobby reload FSODX - Lose... well thats it, you LOSE! GAME OVER! Heart stops...

Entering a game that already has players in; FSODX in double save - See directly above. (lobby reload FSODX)

Pioneer or quest to Lobby FSOD - Same as Lobby FSOD I think...

These are the effects of FSOD, I don't know how many times I have posted them, I don't want to do it again, so read this everyone and don't make me!

Preventions, because there are no cures, unless you use AR to regain lost things...

Lobby FSOD: Don't carry your meseta into the lobby jackass, deposit it before you go back to the lobby.

GameFSOD: Carry one weapon (hunters use mechguns, rangers just your best weapon, forces you don't need weapons as much so this is easiest for you) and make sure its equipped. Carry one armour, as many slotted units as you can equip into it, and then equip that lot. Carry one mag, and equip it, Mag feeding online is NOT ADVISED WITH MORE THAN ONE MAG. Take trimates and whatever but they will be lost if you get FSOD, but because you're clever and you deposited lotsa' money just like i said that won't matter, will it?

Lobby reload FSODX: No prevention, if it hits you, you're screwed. Just hang out in deserted places and as I said arrange meeting times with people you know and trust.

Entering a game that already has players in; FSODX in double save: Always make the game, then it wont happen, will it?

Pioneer or quest to Lobby FSOD (can also happen when you enter for the first time into a lobby from original ship select): Quit the game and re-enter the lobby instead of going back to the lobby. If you get FSODed entering that lobby again, don't go there again mr brainy. :alien:

General points and Tips:

Don't lip off hackers, it's a bad idea.
Don't give your card to any Hackers, or cheaters who you suspect may be Hackers or they can trace, find, and corrupt you if they ever get miffed at you. Also, they have youre account if they should need it as soon as they have your card.

Put choice search settings to off in options or Hackers can Corrupt you apparently through an un - known method to me.

Don't got to Vega, especially block 1, dont go to Altair or Deneb either. Don't stick around if you see FaNaTiC, Kamui Chan (his alter ego), or Manaknayda.
Try to avoid US ships if you can.


Mystery FSODs; variations on existing codes I have encountered

With a HuNewearl I once had (before a corruption) I got an FSOD that erased all my Techniques and Mat bonuses, I am not sure what caused this but have never had it since.

Notes: I have all of this in my mind, it is all from memory but I am sure it's 100% accurate, if you have further questions PM me, or if you think you can correct me on something, do the same.

Carrying one weapon is never, I mean EVER an option for me. Even for my forces. The only thing that keeps this game from becoming too monotonous to play is the variety of weapons I carry - all my characters carry six weapons at any given time. I'm not worried about the item-loss FSODs, though, because I'm going to back them all up (which is why I asked about the second duping method; does anyone know what this is and can we discuss it through PM or AIM? because I have no idea what I'm doing wrong).

Staying away from Altair isn't an option for me either, as a friend of mine and his group hang out in a block on Altair that is hacker-free (somehow they've kept the hackers out... don't ask me how).

One of the only good things about an AR is the anti-fsod code.

Use it, and it only.

Why use an Anti-FSOD code when you could just dupe your weapons and just grab them when you get FSODed?
