Saw and Saw II
#31
The razor came from the second movie. One of the girls found a glass box with one of the cures in it, and two openings at the bottom. Problem was, when she inserted her hand, which went in easily enough, she wouldn't be able to pull it out without cutting herself on teh razors pointing upwards. So what's she go and do? Stick her hand in the other hole as well, trapping herself there.

I suppose panic would drive someone to such actions. Remember, not everyone is as level headed as you and I, and a certain degree of panic would erase any chance of logical thought for many. Not very much can scare me, so I can keep a level head through almost any situation.

Very true words. I just kept thinking, if she had only taken her other hand and wedged the hole open a little more, she probably would have been able to pull her hand andthe cure free..but panic does make one..well panic, so I can see your point most definately

Just remember, different people have been exposed to different things, and so things that are feared also stem from such experiences. I think that the serial killer kept this in mind when putting people in these situations, as is quite evident. ^~^

Oh, without a doubt. He used their own crimes and fears against them. Most people fear death, and above that, pain, especially having to inflict it upon themselves. The drug addict girl in the first movie got off light, in a sense. Well...more so than others. She survived for one, and didn't have to do anythign to herself.

She did. But, did she, really? I honestly don't think so. She had to gouge her boyfriend to get a key from his intestines. Honestly, the way I live life, I would much rather be inflicted pain than to destroy that which I protect.

I don't think the surviving junkie woman was that lucky to live in the first film, afterall she was the thrown into a pit of needles in Saw 2. As for her eventual fate - if you haven't seen the film I wont spoil it for you.

Precisely. All in all her situation was drawn out.

So in that regards, life was pointless for her. Unfortunately, or fortunately,(depending on your level of sanity) serial murderers aren't that smart. Panic doesn't do so much as that stupid people panic. The intellectually superior tend to have lower emotional intellegence which allows us to distant ourselves from a situation to an extent enough that we can think clearly. I think the actions from the first movie show that the people weren't all that smart to begin with.

But when the going gets tough, would you still be able to back up that statement?
