Okay. I'm going to give it a try. Downloading episode 1 right now. Then I can properly give my opinion on it, so brace yourselves, 08th MS Team fans.

p.s. Try not to pay attention to it then! Luckily, it's only a like half-second long clip. Even I managed to live with it. X_X Almost.

Edit: Agh, I've forgotten how long it takes to download anime. OK, patience, patience. I survived intensive MAG farming. I can survive waiting for anime downloads.

Arguably the best Gundam series, even in my eyes. Gundam X is my favorite Gundam series 08th a VERY close second. The problem is, it's an OAV. It's only got 12 episodes.

There is one thing about 08th MS team that cannot be denied. It's the most realistic Gundam series to date.

Mirinee, this anime takes place 10 years after the original Gundam Series, just make sure you know what Zeon and the Federation are.

I agree that 8th team is one of the best gundam series out there but it's not better than Char's counter Attack.

Yeah, I thought Char's Counterattack was great, but as far as realism goes, you can't doubt 08th MS Team. The 18-story machines move like 18 freaking story machines, and the damage is what you'd expect from weapons like that. For a dreamer, it is the best Gundam. :oldman: Especially as far as land combat goes, shows how normal soldiers participate in a mobile suit war.

And if I remember correctly, Char's Counterattack was a movie, an OAV as well, not a whole series. Ended very unpredictably, I think..,very much so.

Revision: After War Gundam X only has 39 episodes, cut me some slack, it's been 7 years since I watched it.

Impulse Buy: Bought Gundam 08th MS Team boxset and might buy Gundam X boxset in a few minutes.

It's still not saying much, you realise that? 'Gundam' and 'realism' don't go together. Well, at least it's trying.

I finished watching episode 1. I know nothing more than that Zeon and Federation are the two sides in the war. So the original Gundam wasn't good? I heard a lot of things about the Char character.

Ah Char he's one of those villians you just love to hate. He holds the nickname "Red Comet" for the color of his moble suit (usually a Zaku 2 custom) and for distroing 3 federation battleships super fast. He's one of the most feared MS pilots in the Gundam Universe. The original MS Gundam series is good it's just outdated (in terms of animation). In order to truely know the gundam universe you have to see the original. Although I wish CN showed the entire MS Gundam series. At least it's out on DVD .

Yeah, I sorta realized, you should probably know about the actual Gundam series before watching the OAV series, whoops. It's kinda like tossing someone into Gundam W: Endless Waltz without seeing the original series. Whoops.

I forgot what happens in the first episode of 08TH MS Team. I think it had a naked chick in it...
Regardless, realism and Gundam go very well, actually. The other series hardly ever had so much as a damaged gundam for more than 5 minutes. It either exploded, or it was in perfecf condition. Missing an arm? Don't worry, that shiny white ship you're working for will have it fixed by next episode.
It gets old. This shows Gundam from the real soldiers point of view, a much more grueling, less idolized war. It's not a story following the war heroes, Shiro's a pretty average guy, LOL.
There's no shiny ship, there's no little hallucinogen seeds going off in peoples skulls, there's no 3 second repairs. And it's not Mecha DBZ.
Zeon and the Feds were both at stalemates for a while for a reason.
