Greenill's probably the best, but in Viridia, you can get shots. I'd probably say they're even.

Look you're both noobs okay. Noobosity is not a measurable quantity.
Back to topic, I personally went with Greenill but I am now also raising a purplenum. If you like rifles definitely go with Greenill. If not, go with Purplenum.

i have both a greenill and a purplenum...
and the greenill definately gets good weapons sooner...
but purplenum will ultimately get you the best...
so what i would do...
make a greenill...
then start a purplenum...
and eventually you will have all you can ask for...
as i soon will...
mwahaha...

I'd go for Greenill, because Purplenum drops too many mechs, which only really work for hunters or RAcasts.
And you get some cool rifles. And the Inferno Bazooka.

Agreed with Forge. Purplenum works best for Racasts, and only them.

i dont even use rifles with my ramar any more...
it's been nothing but mech's for all of ult...
i got the best rifle...
then realized that my mechs did more damage...
and all i have is a pair of justices...
if i had guld milla man...
COMPLETE AND TOTAL DISTRUCTION!!!
but getting back to the point...
i wouldn't ever use mechs with a non-ranger class...
the accuracy is so horrifyingly bad that you can get full combos with no hits at all...
constant missage...
it's disgusting...

Purplenum is way better than Greennill >_>
Mechguns are good on any ranger, on any character, really.
