(Bear with me on this, it's not easy to make one's own proverb)

"Relationships and friends are like kites, you start out only flying your own kite. But eventually you gather more along the path of life, trying to keep them flying high together with each other. But in time the strings will begin to tangle causing the kites to drag each other down, and in some cases they fall to the ground completely. Although you try your hardest to cast them back into the sky, the decision is not yours to make but rather that of the kite and the wind that carries it."

Basically I used that analogy because I can't put the answer your seeking into actual words. Every person has the potential to achieve great things, but only a dedicated few commit themselves enough to reach that goal. And by no means should one blame themselves for another person's lack of commitment or motivation. You truly seem to possess an incredible amount of encouragement and compassion Kashima, but even with those great qualities you're only able to do so much for someone. Only the individual is to blame for their own successes and failures.

not everything you do has to be for someone. Plus i believe that if you set ur mind to somehting and have even a little bit of faith, i believe that you can do it (just as long as it doesnt upset the balance of the universe). I am a total optimist and i rarely feal down. i think an attitude like that can get some place.

im a realist leaning toward pessimism however even i have some things that weaken me. One has to believe in something in this world i try to believe in the potential of those around me when i cannot find a complement for myself at times its all that keeps me going at others its the one demon that threatens to consume me . Heh guess im just too trusting despite what i say

Those were wise words Kisanzi. Very wise indeed. I'm the type with the unlimited potential, but am too damn lazy to live up to it. Although I'm doing better than I used to, I'm nowhere near where I could be. I don't blame anyone but myself, and I don't expect others to feel sorry for me. Everyone makes their own choices. And if they want/ don't want to do something they will/won't do it.

I'd say trust away Kashima, because there are just soo many people that you're gonna meet in your life, and if you don't give people the benefit of the doubt then you'll be looking over your shoulder your whole life.
Take care Kashima! Smile

U should let people choose thier own path. Be there weather they need u or not. As a freind it our jobs to protect those close to us and our friends. My freinds and i have a philosiphy: Do what u want, when u want, and how u want. Let no one hold back ur flames of passion and desire, Help those close to u and they will always remain so"
