Hi, I am a Newbie to PSO(even though I have had the box for a couple of months- haven't really started it because of school). I was wondering what class I should pick and consquently what section ID.
I am a veteran RPG player so it is not as if I haven't played RPGs before- Zelda, Mario, etc.

Well this is a pickle of a question. If you have msn, then add me and we can discuss it. This could take a while to find you the right class and ID. :p If not I will be happy to answer any question you have.

In a nutshell:
* If you like swords, make a hunter first, if you like guns, make a ranger first, and if you like blowing stuff up with magic, make a force first.
* Hunters are probably the easiest class to start with. Personally I started with a RAmar.
* Your section ID should be based on what you want to find...
For hunters:
Skyly
Redria
Oran (maybe)
Bluefull (maybe)
Yellowboze
Whitill
For rangers:
Greenill
Purplenum
Viridia
Yellowboze
Whitill
For forces:
Pinkal
Bluefull (maybe)
Yellowboze
Yellowboze and Whitill are two popular IDs, especially online. Offline you may want to make an ID that gives you more things related to your character. For instance, if your only character is a hunter, avoid Pinkal.

Heres my personal preference:
Hunter:
HUnewearl
Hucast
ID: SKYLY, REDRIA or BLUEFUL
Ranger:
RAcaseal
ID: PURPLNUM
Force:
Most Def FOnewm!!!!
If you really want, FOmar
ID: PINKAL, ORAN
If you're a newb, I'd star with a Hunter or Ranger

Go Hunter status. Hunters are the best class without a doubt in my opinion
But try out mulitiple characters if you want, to get the hang of multiple types.

I myself started with a RAmar (SHARPSHOT), but wasn't really satisfied (in my opinion).
I'd suggest you start either a Ranger or a Hunter... once you get used to the game, see if you can create a Force (THEY ROCK!!!)
"Your destruction is the will of the Gods... and we are their instrument."-Halo: The Fall of Reach
SHARPSHOT -
Viridia - RAmar - Level 41.
SPARTAN -
Oran - HUmar - Level 22.
FLAMESofDOOM -
Redria - FOnewearl - Level 75.

Forces really aren't that hard to start out with.....but for a newb, I'd still go with hunter. If you're up to it, I would suggest starting with a Force, as you will learn a lot about game mechanics fast, and therefore be relatively insane when you start a HU or RA.

for a newb id suggest a hunewearl good attack and you can learn all spells up to level twenty except for reverser grants and megid. OR a ramarl once again good attack considering that you can learn all level twenty spells except for the force specific ones for the hunter go for skyly or redria section ids for the ranger id say viridia yellowboze or whitill
