it's like when i used to play megaman.
once you figured out what the boss's pattern of attack was, you'd get by with maybe a little damage at best.
i'm not saying "He's easy, look at me, I'm cool," because I'm obviously more of a n00b here (pff, lvl 98). What I'm saying is that he is, figuratively speaking, a chain with a very very weak link.
He's not easy though. Even if you get the pattern down, he's a thumb sprainer.

pink Wrote:For all those people saying to hit all his parts at once:
Hitting any of the blue pillars is a very, VERY, bad idea! From careful research I've found out the hard way that hitting the pillar that isn't red in the first form causes the technique the red pillar will use to be MUCH stronger. Focus on just the red pillar in the first form.
For everything else though the shotgun weapon would work well. Shatter multiple monitors and hit all the parts of form 2.
Here's a little tip for dodging the green orb of doom:
When it is starting to get close behind you, circle the orb! Go around and around it until it disappears! It's traveling so fast it can't turn properly so you actually avoid it! If you do get caught by the orb, be sure to have Dimates and Trimates with you! You can still use them while you are caught to refill any missing HP. Some Sol Atomizers wouldn't hurt either to deal with continual shock.
That's really all the tips I can think of other than you should consider hunting a better gun, like a decent mechgun. Of course, I don't know your Section ID... so whether you can get a better gun or not strictly depends on your ID.
Careful Research? Heh, is that what I'm called now. Don't forget that I was the person to tell you this, Pink. Even the dodge

Yes, but I went and tried it out offline a bit after you told me just to make sure... and to my painful dis-appointment... it was indeed true.

Cyan, it is possible to beat Vol Opt at a low level, just in order to do that you will need to either doge the green ball of death every time, or bring a Scapedoll for everytime you get hit (which could be 3 or 4 times, if you are a low level and take a long time to beat it). The absolute lowest HP you can have to live is 641, and sometimes Vol Opt does the green ball twice in a row, or even three times in a row so unless you can heal instantly to full HP every time (meaning Resta wouldn't usually cut it, although Dimates and Trimates could) you would be killed.
I hate it though when you know the ball will kill you and you're there... waiting... caught in those rock things... the lights turn red... you wonder why it just doesn't get it over with... the wait when you know you will die is absolutely agonizing.
Too legit to quit.

Yeah, it is more than possible to beat Vol Opt Version 2 at a very low level if you know what you're doing. My record so far is beating him at level 61.

I think it would have been more dangerous if he would have kept the constant shocking Gizonde from normal-V.hard.
