[MTG] The first Ragol Make a Deck challenge...

I'm sure there are some other Magic: the Gathering fans around here somewhere. So, I've decided to take an idea from a Magic forum I frequent (MTG Salvation) and have us make a community deck.

This is what will happen, rules are as follow:

1. The first poster gets to decide which strategy/combo and colors the deck will use, but may also leave that open to subsequent posters. However, this time, I shall be coming up with the idea.

2. Since Ragol does not have [card][/card] tags - if you can link to an image of the card in question then that would be fantastic. Otherwise, I will include a link to perhaps the best card search engine I know in my signature (click on 'RMaD Resources').

3. You may only post 1 different card per day (Please keep at least 10 hours in between posting cards, even if a day has passed), and you can not double post, even if a day has passed. For example, you can post "3 Mogg Fanatics," but not "1 Mogg Fanatic and 1 Mogg Maniac".

4. Explain your card choice, even if it is obvious. Some people may not know why you chose that card.

5. I will be posting the compiled deck list whenever I can, and will be accepting most of the cards. The only ones I won't accept are ones that don't follow the selected theme at all, or ones that didn't follow these rules.

6. Please make sure you've read other people's card suggestions before making your own - if those cards demand a certain amount of support from the rest of the deck then don't make them useless by ruling that out!

7. We shall make the decks T1 legal, without a sideboard (unless the one who suggested a strategy says something else). Therefore we not only follow the T1 banned/restricted list, but we also don't include the Wishes (Burning Wish, Living Wish, Golden Wish, Cunning Wish, Death Wish) or Ring of Maruf. And try not to play too many pieces of power...

8. Last, but not least, have fun!

For the first RMaD (Ragol Make a Deck) the theme will be Phantasy Star, including all of the games. That means PSI on the Master System all the way up to EpIV on the PC. Future RMaDs on this theme may include PSU.

When you post your choice, you must explain how it relates to Phantasy Star, and what it represents.

I'll start by adding 2 Spirit of the Night, to represent Dark Falz.

this aint a deck but in Ravnika... (new set)
combine Hunted Horror with Necroplasm staright after thus giving you a 7/7 and an auto killinf 1/1 that gets bigger every turn until it klls itself for 5 black mana...
end yor turn and necroplasms ability kills all catures with mana cost of 0 so, by bye tokens that the horror gave them...
(I do an orochi and Dimir deck)

That's a cool combo, Shade, but are you going to add them to the deck? And if so, how will they relate to Phantasy Star?

Meanwhile, I'll add four Desert to represent Motavia, or the desert in EpIV.

Odin, you're correct, this is cards that represent things from PSO and also the earlier series if you know them. So add away. (The current set we're on is Ravnica, City of Guilds.)

Alright Shade, we'll include your combo. How many copies of each card do you want to add? I'm going to add four of each unless you'd rather add fewer.

It looks like we're going heavily into black already, so I'll add three Lake of the Dead to represent the Seabed laboratory in EpII.

In order to pump the Lakes, we'll have to add some Swamps and probably some of the dual lands. I'll choose which when another colour comes in. Unless someone else decides to add one.

Nice graphical representation there Odin! It's quite a strong card, but the only drawback I have is that it doesn't destroy the tokens produced by the Hunted Horror. (Haha - I've just realised that the Slime produces clones... So why does your opponent get them? It's not fair.)

How many Day of Reckonings were you thinking? I'm currently thinking of two, but would you rather add more?

Hmm, WB. We could always splash another colour, but I'd suggest either green or blue due to the extra dual lands Ravnica provides us with. Blue for card drawing and green for mana acceleration and fixing (Birds of Paradise, if we can thematically link it.)
