Yeah, that sounds like it. Just leave your finger on the string, but don't fret it OR mute it. Then, release as you pick it. It takes practice.

Actually, this started off as a thread showing off what instrument you play, not what style. Unfortunately, someone had to go and change the subject, but now that we've changed it yet again, I think we're doing okay.

If you can find one, the Ember SXR-240, but there were only 10 of them ever produced, and I own 1 of them, either that, or get a custom job made, since Emry's is the best thing to vamp a chord, ask them.
Anyhow Shad, I will see if I can TAB and zip the file for you, got a few gigs next week, and not in a basement like some people, a gig I have on monday is for a load of suits, I don't like suits much myself, but for £1,300 for 4 hours work you can't go wrong, I'll see if Sibelius can transfer and save it for you, if not, I can always print it out and send it to you, (I just upgraded to Sibelius 4 as well).

Aight. Thanks Scott.
And yeh. I'd play for people I don't like for that amount haha

I do it 'cos I like to perform, I soak up the crowd like a sponge, but I'd much rather perform for people who appreciate the hard-work I've put into composing the songs and working on them, work which I don't get direct money for.
These suits are just hiring me for the break periods within a business meeting at a hotel in London, (being in London helps me bump up the cost a bit though). This is why I have to charge so much, the equipment I buy costs a lot of money, Sibelius 4 costs £956 per copy, so on a network of 12 computers, that's costing me around £10k, the computers of which all cost at least £3k each, and then there's the keyboards I use, they are £3.5k each. Beckham gets £110k per match he plays, that's £110 for 2 hours work, which is what I probably earn in a year from the keyboard alone, you can't honestly tell me a pair of football boots and kit costs £110k, at the end of the day, I probably don't make much more than most people working a 9-5, there's a lot of behind the scenes work that people never see, (not unless they buy Scott Bull: Pheonix 7,000 on DVD/VHS anyhow). Anyhow, another guitar you might like to try is anything by Yamaha, even their budget range has come a long way in the past 3 years, and since Technics are no longer producing keyboards, they don't have to splash out so much on R/D and advertising, and they can put this money into making new products with a higher quality, (the Yamaha Tyros 2 keyboard is proof of this).

Uhg... Not this again...
Alright, Scott. Drop it before this gets out of hand again. Anyway, If you can find one of the old 1970's model Yamaha acoustics, they have an excellent sound. Also, the smaller bodies are a lot more convienient to play with. And if amplification is an issue, you can just get a pickup, although I'm not sure of which models a good and which are crap. I've never used them before. NVNC ID VIDES, NVNC NE VIDES

Or drop it because you know I'm right or admit that you wanna' have the last word, and try to not make yourself look like a wannabe' either's good for me.
As for amping acoustics, unless you're performing at the Royal Albert Hall, (Which has good acoustics, I've performed there), just get a mic and hook it to anything like a hi-fi, (if you can afford it, I recommend the Shure SM-58, though that does cost around £100, whilst being pennies to me, might be a big of a budget stretcher to a hobbyist).
