Chao Raising
#41
Kitsadoodles Wrote:. Kireek, you keep talking about the DC, but I have no idea why because your game looks like the GC Sonic DX Director's Cut. I know that can't be it though...
!
why is that ?

I play SA1: DX (GC) and SA2:Battle (GC) I take my pictures with a digital camera and anything that looks a bit messed I sort out with copious blurr and air-brush trimming. Everything is 100% accurate visually, I make sure I take with the cam at a particular angle which means no pixel-reflections etc.

The doc doesnt tell you your chao's basic stats (Run etc) but you can use him to check your chaos age and stat 'ranks'.

A better ranked chao will be a better chao when fully leveled (but not maxed, you can never max a chao unless you have gods luck).

As for how did I raise an immortal chao - well if you think rare mag raisng is hard you haven't bred certain chao.

Angel chao (immortal):
Pet a chao with a hero character until its alignment is hero. Let it die and become reborn (not fade away) twice. That means two pink cocoons. After this, feed it one of every animal before it white cocooon evolves.

Light chao (immortal):
Pet a chao with hero and dark characters until its alignment is neutral. Let it die and become reborn (not fade away) twice. That means two pink cocoons. After this, feed it one of every animal before it white cocooon evolves.

Devil chao (immortal):
Pet a chao with a dark character until its alignment is dark. Let it die and become reborn (not fade away) twice. That means two pink cocoons. After this, feed it one of every animal before it white cocooon evolves.

- My TAI is a light chao, and my chaoko is an angel chao.

Immortal chaos will NOT be affected visually accept by wearing masks. They will not have second path evolutions where they slowly begin to change shape. Animal parts will not stay on them - good because animals are better for raising chao than drives really.

-----------------------------------

Remember - when your chao pink cocoons (is reborn) it keeps 10% of the stats from its previous life (this is on SA2:battle only I think).

So if you raise the chao to 99 in all stats before it dies in both the lives (before you make it immortal) then when it becomes an immortal chao it will have a large bonus of additional stat points built up from pervious lives.

Thats how now that TAI has only level 21 run he has over 700 points in that area Wink Making him pretty strong... Chaoko on the other hand I did not do that with, therefore he is a weaker immortal chao. But he's cyyuuuttte so it don't matter Tongue TAI does all the work anyway!

Also, when a chao gets a level up in a stat it will get about 15-30 stat points in that area randomly. So when your chao grows from 1 to 2 run, it may have anywhere between 15 and 30 run as far as stat points go.

This is why stat wise you really cant max chao unless you soft reset your game ever time your chao doesnt get 30 in a stat when it levels up. And that probably 90% of the time.

So partly raising a strong chao is the ranks its born with, partly its buit up stats and partly its just luck.

For those who dont know luck and intelligence are invisible stats your chao has (ever wonder why your chao is so clever at puzzles in chao races or why he always falls over when running?). So you wouldn't know to soft reset if you didnt get a 30 point boost during a lck/int level up. Ergo, maxing chaos is almost impossible, and if you have a maxed chao, yo uwont know it Wink

Also, jewel chao are any jewel chao bought from the GBA game (like an amathyst metallic dark blue chao) or the gold or silver chao from SA1. The can't be bred I have discovered. Only bought. But you can breed them with other chao for interesting results like semi invisible chao such as my Jojo.

He is semi-invisible and shiny. Breeding a jewel (dark metallic) chao with a shiny (light sparkly) chao seems to make it possible for chao (about 50% of the time) to be born as semi invisible.

I think I am on the right path to finding out how to create the true invisible chao who cannot be seen apart from his eyes and wings. Investigation continues... ... I will have that invisible devil chao!

sorry, I have no idea whatsoever of what other chao raising Sonic games there were, because my first Sonic game was actually SAB2 for GC. so there's something like DX for the DC?
and Anti, goodd luck on your investigation for the full invisible chao! I'm sure it'll be really cute! my brother had his Amethyst (I think) jewel chao mate with his shiny white chao, and they created a normal colored (as in blue with a yellow orb and yellow and green highlights) semi-invisible chao, who he named Pinky and made into a flying dark chao.

Sonic adventure came out on the DC. Following came SA2. After SEGA collapsed console-wise, SA2 was ported over to GC in the form of SA2: Battle. Later still, SA: DX was released, this was a port of SA1 from DC. DX seems to have little or no fixes from the dreamcast version unlike SA2: Battle which had numerous changes (especially for the chao gardens! Tongue)

WOW! There's like a whole S**t load of crap I never even knew about with these things! I am/was completely oblivious to the entire process, which should really suprise me because I had been playing SA2 for like 2years until my DC Puttered out! well anyways back on topic, what determines if a chao is reborn or is gonna die on its last b-day? And how does the aging process work? Is it like every ten minutes is a month, or every 2 hours is a year or something?

I hope not.And i'm very glad it doesn't carry on when the GC is switched off,as i haven't played with my Chao in a long time.My best i think is something like level 35 in all areas, not totally sure, though.

A chao will probably live around 7-8 hours on dreamcast.
I'm pretty sure that's accurate since I timed it on my DC copy of SA1 ages ago.

On SA2 (gamecube) your chao has an age, when it reaches 5 it will die.
A chao year on GC is about 3 human hours.

So 5x3=15 human hours for a chao life on gamecube.

I discovered something new!

The rank of your chaos stats affect the points gained when it levels in an area.

Previously I thought this was random from about 15-30 points. However, a chao with rank D in a stat might never get a higher point bonus than around 20 while an S rank chao is probably from 24-30 points up in a stat per level.

So whilst points per level grown are still fairly random, ranks in the stat areas help a LOT.
