So, we all know about the official games. Ruby, Saphire, Emerald. All kinda the same across generations!

You want something a little different but still esentially pokemon? Thats right, of course you do, until Diamond and Pearl come along! ^_^

Well then, take a look at pokemon homebrew games! The two main ones are:

Pokemon Chaos Black (unfinished, obvious hax, lame, dont play it!)
Pokemon Quartz

Pokemon Quarts I was playing recently, and it is free and hillarious amounts of fun!

It's for a slightly more mature audience, it's not full of cussin' but the bad guys of the game tend to have a habit of it a little.

It's obvious the game isnt a port-hax with new gifs masking the old mons'.

It's finished, polished, full of new unofficial pokemon and has a great story! You get to play as LANCE the dragon tamer, and he actually talks unlike our other heros!

Although the game starts the same as many others, it's unique a little later on. I have to say it's great, anyway, here are some pictures!

- Anyway, you might find this game has a slightly bad name online because some software pirates stole the rom and put it in cartridges to sell and conned many people!

This was not the creators will -_-; so dont bitch about it children.

No I'm not being paid to advertise this T_T It's friggin' free so take it or leave it! But it's very VERY fun And also totally legal to download and try since it's not a real game.

Not a bad idea. Though, i'll probably stick it onto my PSP's memory card.

Yes, and remember that for PC play to save use the quick-Save/Load in the emulators menu. I doubt you can export save files between mediums, however. So pick your device first ^_^

No theyre not. It's perfectly legal to buy official roms / download them from your own cartridges and play on a freeware emulator! It's shared roms that are illigal... Remind you of limewire? Yeah, that kinda legal arrangement me thinks!
