Mythology
#21
Hmmm. I remember how Midgard was created. A giant was killed. . . I don't remember who killed it, but after that maggots were eating the carcas. Since the grubs kindof reminded the gods of people, they gave them human characteristics, and that was the birth of the dwarves. My memory is a little dim. . . so it might not be exactly correct.

Then there's the one about prometheus giving fire to mankind. As a punishment prometheus was chained to a rock where his liver was to be eaten by a vulture everyday for an eternity.

I think it was because he pitied humans, and wanted to lend them his aid, yet it was forbidden among the gods to do that.

The gods wanted to retain there godly status and thought that by keeping fire out of the hands of the humans was how they could do it. When prometheus gave fire to humans he also helped them create technology.

Ah, because by helping them create technology, they would become somehwat of a demi-god themselves.
