I'm more versed in biblical mythology myself, despite being non-religious. The story behind the Spear of Destiny (or Lance of Longinus, if you prefer cool names) is one of my particular favourites.

I think that was used in Dragonlance, I'm not sure. I've heard of the Spear of Longinus before though.

The lance of longinus is one of those legendary weapons that's designed to kill demons, if I'm not mistaken. It's often mentioned in the anime Evangelion.

Wasn't the head shaped like a lightning bolt or something?

Yeah but I've seen several variations of it that made it look red and twisted with a lighting bolt style head.

Tried to take over Heaven, I think.

No, FALLEN ANGELS attempted to take over Heaven, during the war with the Morning Star when he was cast down into hell.....THEN demons attempt to take over Heaven, multiple times would be my guess.

I also think it was the name of the spear that pierced Christ's side, thought I'm probably mistaken.
