No more fixing Dreamcasts
#21
which is stupid.
Obviously I read just fine, and you know that, but your pride says you must be right, but that is ok.

Your logic is ridiculous. As I said before, if you don't stay on it for long periods of time then it wont expand the plastic.

Obviously you don't understand anything about why your system is being stupid.
I have told you your problem, and still you continue on your rant, and since this no longer has anything to do with the original topic, and all your doing is trying to start a flame war with me, I will just say your right, even though all intelligence says otherwise.

Your right.
Do you feel good now?
Yes, let this build on to your unending pride.
I just hope your stupidity doesn't infect us all like it has you in your life

well, that seems pretty simple, altough people never buy a console to play only 20 minutes, yes, after 20 minutes the temperature of the tranformator has reached every single corner of the dc (expept the modem), also the pins are not far away from the transformator, so after 5 minutes the console heats up rapidly.

That is how it stays cool, so the system does not over heat that fast, unless you are covering up the vents. Or play for many, many hours on end.

Your catching on....
I know you can understand

Quote:Copied games rarely work on systems, and that will most likely screw something up, which is probably why they say not to copy games and use them....
Umm, no. Copied games work 100% of the time with the proper mods. They only reason they say not to is because they dont want to lose any profit.
Quote:Maybe it is just you. Treat your equipment better, and it may not break, Anti is right, maybe your dreamcast restarting is based on tired equipment, and your trying to make yourself sound intelligent by saying all that bull crap, but it doesn't matter, morale of the story, the dreamcasts can no longer be fixed, so go get the plastic expanded now before they stop fixing them.
Again, lasers wear down. It happens frequently. No matter how well you treat hardware it will break down. Its only of a matter of when

Even using it only for short periods of time will cause it to wear down eventually. It will just take much longer.

Friendly my foot, you are saying no flaming to me, but here you are critisizing everyu thing that i put up there, the same thing I was doing to him, so how about a friendly warning from me, no flaming, Moderator.

I never said anything about mods on copied games, that is completely stupid to argue about, people make mistakes, and things can break.
Don't play copied games, end of story.

Of course lasers wear down, I said that, but not as soon as he says that they do, so again, treat your equpiment better and it wont break. Everything will break in time, but it wont break as fast as his did, the vast majority still have thier dreamcasts, and they work fine.

So before you come in here trying to act all godly and stop the fighting, stop antagonizing.

I think Anti did just fine with that.

Just because your a mod does not mean you are all knowing. Your opinion is not always the best, no matter who you are.

The difference is that I am not calling you stupid for what you believe. There is nothing wrong with arguing your point, there is no need however to personally attack someone.

What? I don't see what you're trying to say there. I don't see what kind of mistakes would cause a copied game to break your console. I do agree with you on the last part though.

Thats a giant contradiction. Which is it that you're trying to say?

I merely disagreed with you. That is definitely not fighting or antagonizing. Feel free to debate but just keep it civil.

I never claimed my opinion was best. I was merely pointing out that some of your arguments were incorrect. This is not a personal attack stop taking it like one.

By saying that my opinion is wrong is personally attacking me, but you don't care about that. You are a Moderator, your aloud to attack whomever you want.
Whatever.
Copied games don't do anything to your system, I said that before, but the one your defending said it breaks consoles faster, but I said he is looking for something to blame his own...mistakes..on

It is not a matter of how long it will take to break, I said they will break eventually, but if you take care of your systems, then they will not break as fast as he claims they will.

By saying you are right and saying I am wrong, you are antagonizing, you can do it, but I can't?
What I said was not a personal attack, why do you take it like one?
I tire of this argument, do what you want.
Everyone in this thread thinks they are right, so it is pointless to argue it.

My dreamcast will work, while his does not, because I know what I am talking about, I am done with arguing, think what you want, do what you want, say what you want. Moderator or no, I will not bow down to your opinion.

yes, the way you said that helps the console last longer is not to play.......that is not a solution
dreamcast is capable of reading cd-r, it was made with that function, but copied games are writen in a different way (unlike the gd-rom) sega did not take this into account, the dreamcast may work fine, but after some time the cd-r wears down the lens and gd-rom take some time in loadings and stuff, since the dreamcast at the beguining needs a fast load, the game will not load and you will be back to the dreamcast menu, if you make it to the game, loadings make take more time, fore example an npc may take half an hour (believe it or not it helped me alot in some quests).
about the fan, mine is working, the holes on the side help cool off, but before i had any holes the dreamcast heated alot, not sure if this matters but in portugal the temperature is hot, last summer my city had above 42ª celsius, so basicly my room is hot, even on winter the dreamcast plastics expands , even if it is a low expand after a year or 2 or even 3 that may cause the dc to reset, normally happens when the dc asks for power to read the game disk, it firts happens like a unusual bug, then the frequency stsrts to increase, until the game becomes unplayable......it will happen for sure, but it is easy to solve the problem, about the laser problem just switch the laser.
theres even 1 more problem that happens on dreamcast, it happens if 4 people are playing, 4 controlers pluged may cause the resistor inside to broke, making the controler unit not workink anymore until you replace the resistor, it happens rarely but it could happen.
