There's no justification to taking another human being's life. Simple as that, self defence or not. There are ways to disable an attacker without taking their life, and many of them are very simple. Fact of the matter is that killing is killing, no matter the medium. Heh. Either way, you have to think logically. You aren't just destroying one life. In most cases the attackers or whatever have families.

But there are. people get away with it all the time, mainly because of self-defence but it doe happen, and Phantom is right, many times (in self-defense) they don't know what they are doing, just they want to not die, so they in turn, kill the other person.

But I know there are legal justifications...

The only moral justification for killing a person is direct self-defense. When a criminal is confined in prison, he does not threaten society, so killing him is not justified by self-defense. And even if capital punishment deters others from committing similar crimes, this would be an indirect defense against murder rather than directly from the criminal being killed. Direct self-defense implies killing someone who himself, at that time, is a threat to other persons, and this precludes taking human life just for punishment.

You shouldn't kill things, it's not a good idea. I don't really believe in karma but more likely than not whatever you do comes up to bite you square in the ass sooner or later. Then there's also the guilt etc etc.

I know someone who almost killed another human being in defending his little brother, and I don't think he was too messed up by it. I mean if you're like 12, and some giant muscle man skin-head starts to attack your younger brother, and you have a knife... Well what choice do you really have just being a kid?

I think the defense of others close to you can also be a strong motivation to kill in a defensive manner. Maybe if you're bigger than the other guy, or at least able to compete physically, or if you're a ninja... Then yeah maybe it's not right to use whatever weapons you have as a defensive measure.

But otherwise, you don't really have much choice. It's the fight or flight reflex and at a certain point instinct makes us fight to survive when we percieve no other means of escape EVEN if we see ourselves to be outmatched.

Now if you are outmatched and are facing your mortality, or the mortality of a loved one and the only defense you have is a lethal weapon (not a weapon which you can choose the power or damage output of) then let me ask you this - would you feel more guild having killed some potential child murderer, or would you feel more guilt for knowing your kid brother died and you could have done something about it?

It's all a matter of perspective...

[SIZE="2"][COLOR="DeepSkyBlue"]Every one has that will to survive, so if you feel threatened, you fight to live. Even defending someone from a certain crime, you can kill and still get away with it, and I agree with it like that also.

If you, or anyone you see is being victimized by someone for some kind of crime, you should efend yourself, and if there is no way out of it, except to kill them, then so be it.

People have thier right to live, but if you threaten to take someone elses life, it is survival of the fittest. Do what you can to live.[/COLOR][/SIZE]

This should be fun for all here, I have a question.....

I need as many as possible suggestions for how you can commit homicide.

What I will do with this is take a survey as each of those ways as a choice in the survey.

The question will be which way would you commit homicide if you had a choice.

Or something to that effect.
