If you really are concerned about losing weps (due to FSDO etc) I uggest tht prchasing a USB memory card would be hihhhhhhhhgh;y advisable, as long as you do not utilize it to "dupe" thenyou will remain legit and have a ready backup if disaster strikes. am not egit by any stretch, but I was for along time on DC, Good luck.

i am hopfully getting online son but i am very worried about loosing items as there is so much corruption and i think that backing up is a good idear and as long as you dont use oit simply to cheat is perfectly ok but as a first time online player how do you dupe the items so they can be backed up as this will realy help me to keep my items when i first go on ?

That is the only reason I dupe right there, to back up weapons. I hate how duping is such a griped about subject. Maybe people should gripe less about dupes and more about hackers and spammers.

I don't care how many times I gotta say this. Wether you're duping or or duping for backup. It's still not legit at all. If someone was truly legit, they'd accept the fact of FSODed, and use the facts to play it safe.

Sure, keep saying that and when your memory card corrupts see why having a backup memory card is better than starting over from nothing. I'm not legit, I don't give a crap, and that's my opinion. You have your opinion and I have mine. I don't mind duplicating items and if you don't then that's fine. As long as I'm not widely distributing these weapons and ruining other people's playing experience then I'm not hurting anything but myself. You can preach all day long and you're not going to make duping go away. Nobody is perfect so we have to make the BEST of things so !!!

Since I've gone legit I've corrupted twice...but you don't see me cheating, I get plenty of FSODs and BSODs, I don't give up. I tell people I'm legit and I won't change, not if I was the last legit player in the game. I'm that proud.

I respect you for that, I could breeze throught the game legit (because I did so before I learned how to dupe) but I'm just lazy. I have toned down on the duping lately but I'm still not legit. Someday I 'll get bored with duping and I'll start over with nothing (except my lvl 200 Devil's Wing mag, 20-30 lv tech disks, and meseta) I've already erased every character I had and started over so I could level without freaking hack mags and actually find my own rares. I found kaladbolg, final impact, devil/battle, addslot, photon drop, varista, l&k 14 combat, h&s 25 justice, db saber, stag cutlery....lots of good weaps and items since I started over with a mag I MADE. Sheik used to be lvl 118 but now he's lvl 68 since I started him over as a nonhack mag character.

I lost tons of stuff from fsod; agito, delsaber's buster, mags, addslots, proto regene gears, delsaber shield, red saber...etc. and i've never even considered turning illegit because of it. I simply got back to the game and legitimately got it all back. Not only does it give the game even more longevity than it normally has but it also gained me some extra experience. If I can go through that without turning illegit (And I know that many other players have went through the same, and worse, without turning illegit) then why is it that some players out there are so quick to cheat?

Backing up items does not make you illegit in my opinion. If the temptation caused by having these back-ups is too much, then just become a cheater.
I can see how cheaters get so angry when legits see cheating as something done by evil people and you are somehow unpure if you resort to it.

I have lost many items to FSOD, but started backing up as soon as I got my first Srank. I would not be willing to create a new character, just to have to go all the way through Challenge mode again to get an srank that I had already clearly earned.

If someone was legit they would accept FSODs? Sorry but that is pathetic. Legit doesn't equal stupid in my book. In my legit clan I have people who choose not to back up, so only have one equipped weapon at all times. This makes them of less use to the team than someone using more than one weapon as there are situations that require a different weapon.

I don't see how you can disrespect yourself by choosing to back up your prized possessions. Do you not have insurance of any kind in the real world?

Everyone has their own opinion of just what "legit" is, but it is when the "uber legits" try to push their ideals onto others by talking about "respecting themselves" and other such garbage, that the arguments between legits and cheaters break out.

To whoever said something about true legits being fine with going through the game again to get an item lost to FSOD:
1) Go online and try find a challenge team (probably the hardest part )
2) Complete challenge mode in an srank time
3) Choose something like a twin and find the 250 grinders needed to get it to full power
4) Find 40-60 photon drops to give this srank a special
5) Drop your srank on P2 and disconnect
6) Repeat with a different character until you have filled all memory card slots (you can't use the same one twice for an srank)
7) Congratulations, you are truly an uber legit! Pat yourself on the back for being so clever and go preach to the "evil legits who back up items" on random blocks and mock them for disrespecting themselves by using weapons they found/earned and being a higher level than yourself (cmode=no exp).
