I really hope the rumours are true. It would be so awesome to finally have a new PSO. Dreamcast players have been waiting long enough!

The different gaming sites are saying different things. IGN seem a little confused over the meaning of "any details":

What exactly is Universe? According to Sonic Team, "it's a rebirth of a legend." But, we don't really know. IGNcube learned from Sega that this title is so far in the future that they aren't allowed to release any details.

Then further down the page they say:

The only other concrete details we learned was that this is going to be an action MMORPG. Does this mean it'll be akin to Phantasy Star Online? Or, will it resemble Final Fantasy XI? All we know is that it's going to be a while before we find out -- especially since the trailer revealed "just started..."

Then they give their opinions:

The trailer itself lasted a little under four minutes. The first minute and a half was a brief introduction to the new title. Apparently, it will be Phantasy Star Online 2 because it's a whole new game that takes place in a whole new world. The rather ambiguous thing is that the trailer references both Phantasy Star Online 2 (which is what we think this is) and Phantasy Star V.

They've only gone and updated the official Phantasy Star Universe website!

SEGA has added a new flash movie to the beginning of the website (Much like the beginning of the trailer), and added 5 screenshots while they were at it to the main website! Totally astounding i tells ya!!!

The Flash movie has a very interesting thing inside it. About 15 seconds (off my head, totally not sure) there is a little bit of animation across the top part of the screen. It looks like someone killing something with a sword swipe. Pause the movie then (right click pause) and it will keep playing. An embedded movie of about 5 pages played one after another. Now what's special about this? It looks like in game footage! new character, new monsters. Very interesting. There is one further in, but it's very hard to tell what it is. I will post a link to the movie once I'm not too busy.

i agree with you Dec, i think that is ingame footage thanks to your eagle eye it looks like we have seen the first real screenshots of PSU

ive taken sum snaps from the flash movie

one looks like a Hucast, one looks like a Raceasel and the other one is of one of the planets shown, you can see "man made" objects from space like huge citys.

i havent really seen this movie yet. when i try to watch it online it always seems to freeze at certain areas(dam buffering). but right now im dling the movie at 450kbs lol. so it wont be long till i see it.
