The point of cheating

What do you guys think the point of cheating is.
I think its pointless and knocks 1000+ off the time you would usually play

That is completely correct. it does make it more fun easier. but the replay value of the game drops highly. and you can never play the game again because it seems alot harder than using cheats. and it also makes the game less fun after you cheated for like 2 hours or so. Im not against cheating though. Some cheats are good some are not. and it is alright to cheat if you've already beat the game. or have a totally seperate save/character for cheating.

You will never get the whole geming experience by cheating. But for some it seems to be a way of showing off (to the uninformed), others it's the only way they can play because they lack the personal fortitude to stick it out. Many people are more into trading, and the social aspect of the game, and don't care too much about playing, so they go for dupes and hacks. There are players who play the game seriously, but have cheat characters to take a break or blow off steam.

It's actually a fact that most PSO cheaters do it because they can't be arsed to get their own legit rares.

Thats what I think, I dont care if someone cheats as long as it dosent screw someone else up like trade steals and stuff. I just like 100% legit-)

Anyway, here in the US most are introduced to cheating without even knowing. You first go online and discover trading, etc. People, who you think are extemely generous drop off items to you, they have lots of them. Later on it's disovered that the game is all hacked out, often you can't tell which items are hacked, duped, or legit. Unless you take the time and effort to educate yourself you're bound to have at least duped items. What I'm beating around the bush on is that it's not neccessarily a conscience decision to play with cheats.

steppenwolf's got a good point there you cant always tell i the person is a cheat or not when i first went online straight after a ofline corruption i got given crap loads of stuff inc dark flow at first i thought it was great untill a friend enlightened me then i felt like i had been conned i have since destroyed all of those items i h8 hackers they ruined pso online 4 me so i dont c much point in cheating as it just ruins it 4 the rest of us
