Its been quite a bit since Phantasy star online has been released, and now hacking and dupping acivity has increased by almost 30% in the last few weeks and is starting to increase slowly, probobly because most of the pso for game-cube population has already dupped their items for characters. But that doesnt stop there.
According to sega, only about 8% of the entire pso population has legit chars that go online. But why is pso for game-cube so into dupping and hacking?
I have spoken to pso players and many responces where, "I get FSODed all the time" or, "Everyone else does it". Other legits have said, "We get on with it, if we lose it? oh well." Some new online players gave me their thoughts;"Dupping from what I have heard, is a safe-gaurd becase you get FSODs all the time. Personally I dont think dupping is good except for that reason."
But the question seems to be, "why so many FSODs?" rather than, "Why so many dupes?" I asked a few of the designers tht worked on pso's online network compatibility in general there answer was, "We are aware of whats going on, but when you make a game with world wide compatiblilty there isnt much to do about it. This could not be entiely our fault. Some users have whats refferd to as "bad conection" (most of these users are modem users) also it is our fault becuase we could have made connection between ships, lobbies, and blocks better but we didnt think the connection would be so fragile". They also said for extra precausions for psoIII.
Some online hunters think FSODs are from all the hacking, but wouldnt that mean its a complete circle? And if it is, then where does this whole saga start? We may never know what or why...
