Anti Hacker Wrote:Greater defense from a barrier, sounds good! but remember we already have deband...
You did not read my post too closely. This spell would not improve your defence but keep you from recieving damage.... *points to my post* go read for yourself.

Yeah, I did read it and i noted that it was different, but it is a similar idea. Also making a barrier that would allow you not to take damage would either make you too powerful or would just be prolonging your own inevitable death

Also, where's the fun in being invincable in a game, and being able to take out something in 1 hit through-out the life of playing it?

But you have to admit, it would be cool to have a protective barrier for a limited amount of time... that way if the enemies were kicking your but you could regroup under the barrier, shhifta/deband, jellen/zalure and resta/anti everyone in the party (obviously jellen and zalure would be aimed at the monsters, heh) and when the barrier went down it would be pay back time!

(oh yeah, also a barrier would be an exellent excuse for kickass graphical effects)

We already had that. (MAGs, remember? Kalki, Varuna, Varaha, Kaitabha and Vritra, to name a few, all make you temporarily invulnerable when your PB fills up).
Looking at the trailer, it seems to me that PSU will have completely different storylines: The characters in the trailer do not look generic at all, do they? They look like individuals... maybe a retro-style Phantasy Star for Single Mode, and a PSO-esque multi mode? I dunno.

A keyboard is now mine. Fear my fast-typing skills. I play the PS2 version of PSU.

You mean barriers like Blessing from PW/3PW4 quests, could work I suppose, but they'd need a different and rarer energy source, perhaps Photon Drops, 10,000 meseta isn't exactly much.

Yo, namillus, he said sorry for the language at the begining of his post, or perhaps YOU are the one in need of grammatical lessons.
This statement of "sorry for the language" could mean one of two things. Either he was going to curse a lot, which he didn't do, or he is new to the English language, which is a DESTINCT possiblity. Perhaps you should think before you go and try to make yourself look cool by putting down his grammar.
(Sorry if this was considered a flame...but anyone who is insensative enough to READ the words "Sorry for the language", realise that there is no cursing, and then criticise somone for not having perfect grammar is absolutely absurd.)
BACK ON TOPIC
I like the barrier idea, kind of like the light shield in Jak 3, perhaps it draws directly on your magic power in a xTP for x ammount of time deal.
