I just got my copy of Resident Evil 4 yesterday and here are my impressions:
After putting the game in my gamecube and starting it up I can easily say that I sat in front of the screen stunned for about 10 minutes. Progressing deeper into the game the graphics and atomosphere grasped tightly to my consciousness and completely pulled me in. I've waited a long time for this game and upon playing it I can say that it is better than I could have remotely imagined. I can confidently say that this is the most impressive work of programming that I've seen to date. If anyone else has picked up the game please post your thoughts about it and comments here.
NOTE: Sorry to not go more in depth on the gameplay and experience but describing how good everything in this game is would take an entire novel. The game is simply overwhelming.

Is it scary though compared to the other Resi titles, because to me it just looks like an awesome zombie killing Shoot-em Up, which is definately no bad thing... in fact its better!! ^_^

Ive seen many videos, read countless reviews, and seen many screenshots of this game, and it looks really really good! Although I wouldnt buy it, coz of the scare factor hehe
The graphics look amazing, the storyline is even real simliar to the 2nd resi evil movie.
Wouldnt like to come across one of those huge guys with the bag over their heads though XD

im gonna get r4 as soon as i get $50 but on ign i read that theres no zombies :'(
and ive seen some screenshots the graphics are incredible

I'd recommend this as the one game that anyone that likes games should play. The visuals and atomosphere will blow your mind. I've gotten pretty far into it now, and some of the rooms I've seen just bewilder me that they are actually in a game. Plus on top of that the game is scarier than the other resident evils and I hear its around 30 hours long! (I did'nt belive it at first, but I'm already 10 hrs. in and I'm still on disc one.)
About the zombies, yes they are still there, BUT they are many times smarter. The zombies now talk, evade gunshots, run and try to rush you, hide to suprise you, use weapons and even cooperate to trap or flank you. The A.I. is simply astounding. And since you can aim now you can shoot a zombie wherever you like. They have somewhere around 50 reaction animations depending on where you shoot them. You can try for those lethal headshots or you can simply shoot out their knees and cap their head while they sqwirm on the ground. On top of that you can also shot off body parts. So if a zombie is holding an bothersome pitchfork then you can shoot off their right hand so that they can't use it anymore; the same also applies for legs. But it's not as simple as it sounds, if a zombie catches on that you're trying to disarm them then they'll either rush you or better yet, THROW THEIR WEAPON AT YOU! It sucks when some of the later zombies chuck a scythe at you!
But all in all, if I were you I'd get this game and get ready to bask in it's outright perfection.

I would get the game if I wasn't such a scardy cat.
It looks really good and exciting.
Oh and they are not zombies =P but you find out in the story of what they actually are.

sorry, but everyone here in the game isn't dead. All of them are living, but they act mindless and at the same time intellegent. Something happened to them, something that breaks the rules of nature. But you're right, that AI is scary.
Plus, after chapter 1-3,their are these tenticle slashing monsters which are very scary and dangerous, you will have to play it to find out where they come from.And in the climax of chapter 2-2, you and 2 others experience a night of the living dead senerio (the cabin scene). That moment is one of the best.
And im at chapter 2-3 start now. see ya later

This game is the god of ALL oter Resident Evils. I just getting it yesterday should know. ^_^ Better graphics, storyline, weapons, and enimes. It's much more interactive as well.
