Error 102?
#1
(No.102)
Please check that your provider settings are correct before connecting.
The line was diconnected.
PRESS START

...argh! I saw the lobby, only this message popped up! I've been struggling to get online now for AGES but I just can't!

When I go to the homepage and click on enter website, a little arrow in the bottom right-hand coner of the screen appears, flashing...allegedly loading something but it doesn't! (Waaah).

I filled in all the correct information into my connection settings (I think):
I went to Start -> Run -> cmd -> typed in ipconfig/all , and I got the following information:

PPP adapter BT Broadband:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix:
Description:
Physical Address:
Dhcp enabled:No
IP Address:
Subnet Mask:
Default Gateway:
DNS ServersSad1)
(2)

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

Connection-specific DNS suffix:
Description:
on
Physical Address:
Dhcp enabled: Yes
Autoconfiguration enabled: Yes
Autoconfiguration IP Address: ***a different one to the BT Broadband one***
Subnet mask: ***again, a different one (obviously)***
Default Gateway:

I left the areas blank for my own protection, sorry ^^;

Yeah...um. Can anyone help?

try all the automatic settings first, if that fails you might wanna just try and call your isp and ask them about it

I did, only they didn't work - which is why I went manual. The automatic setting simply brought up a message saying 'failed to request IP from DHCP' or something along those lines... >.>

And the people at BT were useless - nobody had even heard of a Gamecube or Ethernet cable. They really had no idea what I was on about.

It sounds very much like you have the same problem as the person in this thread!

Are you the same person? Tongue

Well in any case, anyone have the solution?!

It's still killing me! It's been 3 days now and no-one has any idea what's going on! Ayy...*dies*

P.S. Thanks for trying to help us yesterday Smile

Really? So I'm not alone then...do you also have BT Broadband then? I wonder if I need a direct as opposed to crossover cable... >.>

Just for anyone continuing in reading this thread, my modem is a 'BT Voyager 105 - USB ADSL Modem'...it plugs directly into the back of my computer and directly into the phone line on my wall. I wonder if my setup is wrong...But when I try going online with it my computer does recognise it and does say 'Local Area Connection established blahblahblah'...

*le sigh*

...EDIT:

Just to clarify:

USB ADSL Modem - plugs into back of computer via USB
- plugs into phone line in wall

RJ45 Crossover Ethernet Cable - plugs into Broadband Adapter in Gamecube
- plugs into back of computer

Local Area Connection Enabled on PC.

How'd you mean, you 'needed two IPs'? I do have two IPs, one for the Ethernet, and one for my Broadband Modem...which do I use for which fields on the Gamecube? Am I correct in saying that the Default Router should have the same address as the IP address field? And then the proxy address is the same too? The Ethernet cable doesn't have a Default Gateway value or DNS Servers, but it has its own IP address and subnet mask. The Broadband Modem has the whole enchilada...I'm just a little confused on which data I need to use for which field...

Any ideas? Sad
Thanks for taking a look. ^^
