what are ur opinions on renewable energy which is the best! we like wind please help our re-search

If all you need is opinions I would have to say solar. Unfortunately it costs a lot and isn't that efficient. So I guess scratch that one.

My choice is... HYDRO POWER! Clean, efficient and unless there's some unforseeable problem you'll always have plenty of running water so that you can get electricity.

Now, personally, I think we should use em all. We should use them in an efficient, non-harmful and beautiful way. Let's not litter our oceans and land with some ugly hunk of metal floating or sitting there . Don't destroy the enviornment just to create a non-greenhouse effect energy . Personally, I like Nuclear Power (non-renewable because of the use of Uranium). The problem is the radiation and storage/disposal of it .

In an ideal world we should have tapped into the oceans power years ago. As we know we dont live in an ideal world but hydroelectricity and wind combinations seem probably the way it will go. And should.
New solar technologies that make the sun an efficient source of power should not be too far away i hope.

Fossil fuels have almost been exhausted anyway so prepare for blackouts over the coming years....*nooooooo dont interrupt my pso*

Tapping into the power of the oceans is the best way to go, IMO.

Solar power is nice, but not very reliable and it is rather location-specific (i.e. you're probably not gonna have a lot of luck with it in Britain).

Wind energy is a nice way, and the only people who really oppose it are NIMBYs (Not In My Back Yard) who say that it 'will spoil their view' or 'it's too loud'.

i think wind energy is the best bulit in sea's and then it will not spoil the view of NIMBY'S thats my view anyway(y did you not put a poll in this thread?)

Yes, wind and tidal power (or any other power from the sea).

The sound of large 'wind power stations' out at sea sounds like a good idea to me especially. Of course it's not problem free, but it could do a lot of good.

While I was learning about the environment in German, I learnt that the Germans do actually have a large windpark in the North Sea - they're also one of the world's largest users of renewable energy and their government (which is a coalition between the Greens and another party) wishes apparently to close all the nuclear power stations down by 2032.

We could learn a lot from Germany's example.

Just an afterthought here but with north sea gas and oil for us running out fast why not attach the windmills to the soon to be disused oil-rigs. If there is one place that is windy its the north sea. re-cycled oil rigs, theres a thought.
