Xbox 360 team split in two for handheld development, claims new book

A new book about the rise of the Xbox 360 , called The Xbox 360 Uncloaked, reportedly divulges new information about the long-rumoured production of a Microsoft handheld.

Although we have yet to get our hands on a copy of said book, the internet reports claim that its author - Dean Takhashi - reveals that the handheld console is already in development stages, with one half of the Xbox 360 team being awarded production duties.

It would seem that, if true, the Microsoft handheld would see the light of day half-way through the 360's lifecycle, a ploy apparently to reduce costs. While the console does seem an inevitability, this is arguably the most concrete slice of evidence on its existence yet.

I guess everyone's after a bitta handheld action afterall! What do you think, and would you get one if it was released?

I hated xbox from the beginning and itll proably eventually go out of business in making consoles like Sega did, but Sega kicked so much more ass though sega should make another home console or handheld one that would be great

Isn't its codename supposed to be Origami? I dont think for a second i would buy this, i think Ms should have more sense than to enter a market that is already dominated, unless they have a 'blue ocean' strategy up their sleeves.

If it was the supposed truely portable pc/pda/xbox all in one thingy though?? Interesting but not that cheap either.

It could be good if Microsoft releases a handheld then it's bound to be better than the PSP hopefully.

I dont know about the rest of you, but I would gladly trade in anything xbox for sega to come back!
