"Listen!" shouts Navi the fairy into Link's ear. "You are going to get your ass KICKED. Saddle up Epona and get the hell out." Samus scans Link. "Small elf boy. Dressed inadequately. No threat." Samus opens up with a stream of Wave Beam fire. Link whips out the Mirror Shield. Samus' futuristic bullets vapourise it. Link retaliates with a round of Ice Arrows, but Samus quickly frees herself. Link swings to the roof and Samus Grapple Beams after him. Link screams into his GBA for Tingle's help, but someone's plugged in Fusion to get the Metroid 1 bonus. A Charge Beam blast is heard from miles away.

This was extracted from page 73 of NOMUK issue 133, so i thought i would post it, there was a whole tournament thing with loads of characters

hm.ok lets see so u want everything huh. Link i still vote for. Link has the master sword when concentrated enough he can shoot stuff with the sword. theres the great fairy sword where link turns ultimate well. sorta ultimate lol. the mirror shield basically reflects everything back including grapple. samus plasma beam has a distance and doesnt go like the other beams. link has a grapple hook, boomerang, bow and arrows, bombs, shields, swords, megaton hammer would pwn samus if link gets a chance. i mean there both pretty equal for everything. now the only thing though that scares the crap outta link would be the screw atk. but i still say link wins, cause if u take everything from each game samus doesnt have much. link gets the talisman of quake, ring of fire, super def and lighting.

um no link wont touch her shes invicible during screw and moves at sonic speed with the speed booster the only thig that would truthly damage samus is the hammer which is a slow weapon and the wave beam will go through the mirror sheild and the ice beam will freeze him and hello what about difusion missles and other abilties i didnt mention seriously link is beyond screwwed and i like both charcters equal but link stands no chance a more even fight would be megaman vs samus so please use your common sense and see that in a fight link would lose to samus big time

if im not mistaken the wave beam is a just light energy. so nothing can pass thru the mirror shield. samus's screw atk isnt invincible, in super smash bros u can shoot her with guns with stuff and she can get hurt. plus links spin atk can knock samus out of screw atk. and with samus's running speed there. u can only run in one direction. as soon as she jumps and lands it stops.link can easily dodge that. and the ice beam is just wait to slow to deploy and shoot. and u cant go saying that the master sword can break cause it cant. its the legendary sword. and link can up jab and down jab as well.

Arrows against an armoured futuristic battlesuit? I highly doubt the offensive value of a twig with a sharp metal bit on the end.
Link has bombs, true, but he doesn't have a huge Arm Cannon with an added launcher upgrade, or a Morph Ball for that matter...

Light arrows? Still worth very little against, ooh, eight or more Energy Tanks fuelling that battlesuit. After all, the Light Arrows were designed to combat the pure evil that is Ganon...
'Sides, knowing some of her guns (Wave Beam and Phazon Beam) I think she'd be more than capable of fragging those Light Arrows. And what would happen when Link runs out of magic?

yer good point i mean thats wot the green medasons for and also u play metroid prame than so have i its cool stell(soz bout going of topic)

um. in super metroid her screw atk isnt invincible. She can in a matter of fact get hurt. mother brain can hurt her in screw atk mode. some pirates can hurt her.

i mean thats at the end of the game almost no arrow is going to hart her in the screw act. anyway the screw act cuts things up so the arrows will just be cut
