Oh well... being someone who goes to very few sites and only uses Firefox. I get all of 2 or 3 pieces of spyware on my harddrive every half a year.
Fair enough. Up to you of course. Smile
Windows is stil refusing to run! Angry

P.S. It's annoying, I'm one of the people that goes on only a few sites, but my brother keeps going on game sites and stuff. -_-;;
Whos computer is it? if its urs, or if u have more duty and majority over it. I suggest u write 0's to the harddrive, not take a pen to it and write 0's. But writing 0's will make sure the harddrive is absolutely clean with no bugs, unlike formatting as it leaves tidbits of info here and there. Now u will have to find the make of your harddrive first, and the get the brand number it has as well. Once u have that, goto google or the harddrive manufactuers home page. and look for some program for that harddrive that can write 0's. This will take 24 - 48hrs to do this so be warned lol. But i quaratee u that it will delete all viruses, spyware and any other junk thats on there; it even does a defrag lol. now if u have majority over the computer then i suggest u make 1 account with a password that no one can figure out (when u have reinstalled windows). If your brother wants to go on, watch em like a hawk no matter what he does.

being doing this stuff for 6 years, and sometimes it gets boring here and there as its the same mumble jumble blah blah blah. So far i havent found a computer that has given me a challenge yet to try and clean up and hopefully its recoverable. They say its good to have a registry backup, but that i dont believe, cause there are viruses out there that will attack that as well. If you want a computer to work well, get a good firewall, anti virus program, trustworthy ad busters. and once u have a computer that is up and running with all security installed and what not with no games. If u have norton or another program that can copy the harddrive to another harddrive then i suggest u do it. Back up harddrives that are prepped for ne thing are ze best. got a few of em in my drawers incase ne thing goes wrong. O yeah if updates come out for the operating system and such, always update as well. If you have burning software, get updates for other programs. Usually call those install disc's, and those will come in handy later on down the road. Ill also be writing a basic guide soon to show and tell how to keep a computer clean, and a advanced guide for da nerdies (like me lol) of how to make sure its clean in the background. (sometimes i hate the registry Tongue lol)

Ah well happy computing peoples Tongue.
Usefull program to write 0's to the drive:

have you tried to boot it in safe mode faulkie? if not Restart->Hit F8 at the beggining until another menu-> Safe Mode
It might be F10 instead of F8 I'm not quite sure.

Edit: Damn, serpent you were right! XoftSpy, found 7 objects adaware never picked up. What AV do you reccomend?
if using windows, do this to start in safe mode as well. goto start menu = run = (type in the box) msconfig. Now all the msconfig windows should be nearly the same as other windows. Look for a selection that says diagnostic startup, that will also boot up in safe mode Smile.
Pfft.. It says its safe mode, but I've had a virus that still started up when I did that method.
Erm, ty Phantom. As for an AV... Well, the best is probably Panda... but that sucks too. I find that, unfortunately, no antiviruses pick everything up, so best defence is to be careful in the first place. When going on any site that could be dodgy, don't forget to set the security settings highest, basically. Atm, I have no AV. Smile

Btw, when Xoft found those items, you were alright to remove them yourself, yeah? 'Cause paying for the liscence fee is rediculous. I assume you were fine?
Yes. I was hardly gonna pay $39.99. Especially when it gives me the locations..
i have an idea to the problem, but BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS.
go to exec and write regedit , from here you can delete or modify the the files and imformation of your computer, BE CAREFULL OF WHAT YOU DELETE OR ELSE ..... IT'S BETTER TO HAVE A COMPUTER TECHNITIAN TO DO THIS FOR YOU.
