Wow... i REALLY want this game. And I haven't REALLY wanted a game ever since i held that loaf-of-bread keyboard controller in my hands at my friends house.
I like that ink splatter idea, as I'm sure we will all hate it when used on us, it gives a little more variety to the weapons than just getting hit with something. "Why not make themselves drive into that lava pit?"
Custom Decals means we can make our own? I will so own if that's what they mean. As I make sprite graphics for an online game.
The new tracks should be interesting to see. I hope they pulled them off well. new tracks means maybe someone who WASN'T good can find a track they are good at.
Only up to 4 people in online mode means tournaments may take longer than wished BUT will make everyone races just that much harder. As soon as this game is out, everyone who has a copy needs to post their ID Numbers so we can add them to the buddylist.
Lee, find out if players have some form of communication over online play! :O
It doesnt look like it, not while you're playing anyways, because i remember Nintendo saying previously how they want all games to stay within their age ratings while your playing online (I.e. no shouting "F!#K" into the microphone or drawing rude images on Pictochat!), although according to Nintendo.com, when you click on 'How this game is connected" bit it comes up with Pictochat, so who knows! I know for sure though that Pictochat will defo be going worldwide with Nintendo Wi-Fi
Also, i'm not sure but i've read it twice now that only 4 people can play online at the sametime :S
It'd be nice if Nintendo bucked up for once and made something that would allow Nintendo players to talk online FREELY. they could make an option for a "Foul Language Filter" or something. Nintendo is just afraid of a game usually rated E having to say "Gameplay may differ online". They're too afraid of a controversy that won't happen.
Also.... I've made a "beta version" (right term?) of the way I'll be keeping track of the tournaments and stuff. soon as i get it hosted ill post it here. If anyone has AIM and wants to see it badly add: R3Kles aband0n
Hmm... don't hate me for this (

) but I actually find the touch keyboard REALLY hard to use. A mircophone thing would be better, but people would probably just shout into it.
And custom decals sound SO cool. I can't wait!
Haha. No ones going to be prosecuted for their views.
I think the only reason I'm good with it is because I use to have a Palm Pilot and used the OSK alot.
Wow, just wow. Though I was looking forward to having 8 racers on the track, I'm not disappointed that it won't. This is starting to look like the greatest Mario Kart game ever, and that shouldn't be taken too lightly.

Nintendo.co.uk Wrote:Last week we revealed some of the classic courses that form part of Mario Kart DSâ massive track roster. Today weâre going to give you a sneak peek at a few of the brand new tracks made especially for the DS version, arriving on November 25.
While the classic courses were named under the banner âRetro Grand Prixâ, the new tracks form the aptly-titled âNitro Grand Prixâ and are further split into four Cups: Mushroom, Flower, Star and Special.
Mushâroom to manoeuvre
We began our tour of the tracks with the Mushroom Cupâs second course, Yoshi Falls. Right away, you know youâre in for something special. Rendered in impressive 3D, this Hawaiian-style course is built at the bottom of a vast waterfall-filled valley where a giant Yoshi egg rests.
Wooden huts and palm trees line the track on one side, but the other side is a sheer drop into a watery abyss. The circuit has two levels: the upper one is flat and is full of dash panels that give you a kick of speed, while the lower level is set at a 45-degree angle and requires a steady hand to drive against the strong flow of gushing water.
Yoshi Falls isnât the only course that offers multiple paths. With eight players taking part in each race, youâll need plenty of room to manoeuvre. Thatâs why Mario Kart DS has some of the best-designed tracks youâll ever play, with hidden shortcuts and branching paths a-plenty.
Rounding off the Mushroom Cup is a course with a name you might recognise: Luigiâs Mansion. If youâve played the Nintendo GameCube title of the same name, youâll be familiar with Luigiâs spooky old haunted house. But in Mario Kart DS, youâll notice one massive difference - the racetrack running right through it!
After Yoshi Fallsâ wide, open-plan course, Luigiâs Mansionâs tight corridors will have you bouncing from pillar to post on your first few tries. Inside the mansion, youâll have to contend with swinging chandeliers and rickety staircases, while outside in the gloomy grounds, giant gravestones chill your bones while wizened old trees come to life and walk across the track.
Race in the sunshine
After the spooky darkness of Luigiâs Mansion, we took a break in the sunshine of Delfino Square, part of the gameâs Flower Cup. Once Marioâs favourite holiday destination, Isle Delfino now plays host to this 'Monaco'-style road-based race.
The track begins in the town square before winding through tight shopping streets, across the harbour littered with kart-stopping crates, before ending at the open drawbridge where you need to make a massive boost-assisted leap and skid to the finish line.
Next up in the Flower Cup comes a course as crazy as the purple-clad weirdo Waluigi himself. Waluigi Pinball is constructed inside a giant pinball table complete with high-speed tunnels, treacherous ramps, twisting turns, bouncing bumpers and tumbling steel balls.
Like a mad rollercoaster ride, the track is tremendous fun and shows off the graphical power of Nintendo DS to its fullest. Chock-full of neon-bright colours, gleaming metal and Waluigiâs wild face looming over the playfield, Waluigi Pinball will become one of your favourites - trust us!
Even more modes
As the saying goes, all good things must come to an end, so thatâs all we can reveal about Mario Kart DSâ new tracks for now. The four tracks above represent merely a small portion of the new courses designed for the game; which, when you add in the classic tracks, makes for the biggest collection of Mario Kart circuits ever created.
And thatâs not all. What we havenât talked about yet are the other single-player modes. As well as the standard Grand Prix, Mario Kart DS features four other game variants: Time Trials (go for the best lap times), Vs (race against computer opponents), Battle (burst rivalsâ balloons or steal Shines) and Mission Run (mini challenges with pre-set courses and characters).
Plus - donât forget that you can also play these tracks with your friends by local wireless connection or race online against the world via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection - making Mario Kart DS the best and the biggest Mario Kart youâve ever seen!
Yoshi's Falls and Waluigi Pinball sound... ARGH i wanna play this game darnit! XD
Yeh man. Only about another month and a half haha. I made a template for how the tournaments/races will be shown. If someone could tell me who to post it?
How to post it, as in make it visible on the web? Send it my way and i'll pop it up on either Ragol.co.uk or on my webspace
[email protected] ^_^
The Mario Sunshine course sounds best to me, or maybe the Waluigi pinball...
