Yes, I know the classes are meant to be typed more than spoken, but it's nice to pronounce them as ST intended.

I was talking to someone yesterday who kept saying "Rah-cast" instead of "Ray-cast", and "FO" is as in the start of the word "force", so it's not right to say "Foe-mar". The only exceptions are HUmar, HUcast and HUcaseal, with the HU as "Hue".

Right?
I always pronounce RAcast as "Rah-cast"... why would it be ray-cast? That's just silly Wink Tongue

FO & HU are yea pretty much obvious and i think everyone says that the same way (I.e. "Foe" & "Hue").
I say "ray" because a Ranger starts with "ray". Then again, hunter doesn't start with "Hu" but I'd feel like a jamoque saying "Huh-cast". I'd expect someone to say gazeund.. gese.. clean that up.
I concur... I believe RAmar is meant to be said like (rAY-mAR)
HU = like a color's "hue"
RA = like a "ray" gun
FO = like "fo'" as in gangsta' talk
Mar = like I am going to "mar" you with a huge knife :O
Marl = like the name "Carl" but with an M
Cast = like the thing you get when you break a leg
Caseal = "cass-eel"
Newm = one bunched up "newm" so, sort of like "BEWM!"
Newearl = "new-earl"

I actually thought of making a thread on Anti-Snarf about item pronunciations a while back. o.o
RA = rah. It's R-A, not R-A-Y. And don't try to tell me "WELL ITZ SHORT FOR RA-NGER LOL", because if that were true we'd be calling all HUs things like "Huh-Cast," as has already been mentioned. That said, a Y is not implied... so we are left with R-A. So, pwn't. ;[

I actually have heard HU pronounced "who" and "hue." I use both, sort of; I find it's easier to say "who-mar" and "hue-newearl" instead of the reverse. I dunno why. Tongue The 'casts, I could use either...
If you read Japanese, you'd know Tongue

HUmar/HUcaseal/HUcast (like in "huge")
HUnewearl (like in "hug")

RAmar/RAmarl (like in "ray")
RAcast/RAcaseal (like in "rabbit")

FOmar/FOmarl/FOnewm/FOnewearl (like in "foe")
Of course "ray-cast" is silly. They're all silly Tongue.

I agree with whiteninja, except HUnewearl in Japanese has the HU as the start of the word "Hunter".

Agree with Kefka for HUnters, but are you sure the RA isn't always "ray":

As for forces, "FO" looks like "foh". Foe? Weeellll, I'll let you all away with it since you might use different accents and it's close enough anyway. Confusedpeech:
Is there really a standard to hold this against? What I mean is, who actually defines this? The makers of the game.
And where have the makers of the game outlined their pronunciations? I haven't seen it anywhere. For now, I think we're left to our own devices until ST decides to update us.

I'm agreeing with whiteninja on most of it, although I pronounce "FO" like "Foe", not "foo". "Caseal" I pronounce "Case-ee-awl", and "newearl" I pronounce "N-wearl". Reasoning behind this is, in Hunewearl for example, I see the word broke up as "Hune-wearl".
Obviously, I'm not asserting that I'm right because I've just pointed out that there are no concrete references for anyone to use to back their assumptions.
