Out of quests?
_________________________________

Everyone knows about quests. Why? Because thousands of PSO players play them. But is sega running out of new ones?
Just days ago a new quest made debut on the 52 ships. A quest called "Labyrithine Trial" where you must work as a team in the caves to find 30 capsules in 15 minutes. I played the quest just hours after the premere, and thought it was pretty decent. Despite it being in the caves. Now that there are over 40 quests online for the GCN, will there be anymore?
I asked ST on that question; And got a responce alomost any gaming company would say if they where asked if a sequel to their game would be made: "We can't realy answer that, ideas for such things just come and go. We do have many quests out and ideas are getting slim. And adding areas that dont exist offline, (Forest, Ruins, and such) could very well cause more trouble connecting.
So what ST will do? We don't know yet. I also talked to a few staff members of a site called psogamerz. They said, "We are very much happy with the quests we get, when they come up with more they come up with more".
But if new quests don't come along, a part of PSO may fall, and if it does, some people think so will the entire game; little by little.

I don't really know if anyone else gets fed up with losing unequiped items when you get FSOD- i am. The first two times it happened i lost all my items but then i did something the third time it happened then when i checked my items they were all still there. So now when it happens i do this and it seems to work.
When i got fsod instead of resetting my gc i turned the power totally off then on again. When i selected my character it says 'you did not finish the game properley all items are lost' but i go into offline game anyway and dont check my item pack i went straight to checkroom and selected deposit. Then the list of all my items were still there to deposit but i just exited the checkroom then checked item pack and the items that should be lost were still there. I always do this now so i do not know if it is just lucky i dont lose items or that it really works! I am still going to keep doing it though so i dont know whether not doing it will make items dissappear( that make sense??)
Next time it happens try it and see if it is just me of whether it works-maybe sometimes you dont lose items when fsod i dont really know-its just that each time it happened to me i lost them!

Two new quests- Updated
[ decswxaqz - September 17 2003 - 19:11 PM ]

Two new quests have arrived on PSO for the Gamecube.

Labyrinthine Trial is a new quest. It allows a team of 4 people to run loose in Caves 1 collecting capsules. There are 30 capsules in all, and a time limit of 15 minutes. It's a pretty tough quest, even if you know what you are doing. If you can't be bothered to get a Ragol Ring, then this quest allows you to get a ring! There is a walkthrough here for you, including information on the White Ring and how to get it. This can only be played in a team of 2 or more.

Today's Rate is an old quest from the Dreamcast version. It features some new gameplay twists in that you can shrink in size! This is playable on your own (although it's not recommended), or as a team. A guide is here for you.

Note: These quests are only currently available on Japanese or US servers. Today's Rate is located in the Extermination quests, and Labyrinthine Trial is in the VR quests.

Hi its Ivan from now on I will a few times of the week have a news article posted in this section so you might wanna check the forums between 9 and 10 pm gmt time. So heres number 1!
Whats up with hacking?
_____________________
Ivan Palmer
Its been quite a bit since Phantasy star online has been released, and now hacking and dupping acivity has increased by almost 30% in the last few weeks and is starting to increase slowly, probobly because most of the pso for game-cube population has already dupped their items for characters. But that doesnt stop there.
According to sega, only about 8% of the entire pso population has legit chars that go online. But why is pso for game-cube so into dupping and hacking?
I have spoken to pso players and many responces where, "I get FSODed all the time" or, "Everyone else does it". Other legits have said, "We get on with it, if we lose it? oh well." Some new online players gave me their thoughts;"Dupping from what I have heard, is a safe-gaurd becase you get FSODs all the time. Personally I dont think dupping is good except for that reason."
But the question seems to be, "why so many FSODs?" rather than, "Why so many dupes?" I asked a few of the designers tht worked on pso's online network compatibility in general there answer was, "We are aware of whats going on, but when you make a game with world wide compatiblilty there isnt much to do about it. This could not be entiely our fault. Some users have whats refferd to as "bad conection" (most of these users are modem users) also it is our fault becuase we could have made connection between ships, lobbies, and blocks better but we didnt think the connection would be so fragile". They also said for extra precausions for psoIII.
Some online hunters think FSODs are from all the hacking, but wouldnt that mean its a complete circle? And if it is, then where does this whole saga start? We may never know what or why...
