  Def Mag?
Posted by: AeryEcho - 16-08-2006, 03:46 PM - Forum: Items - Replies (1)

I am new to mags, but right now I am trying to make a Bana Mag as a Force. The charts here say it needs to have >44 Def, but that seems impossible at level 50: does that mean it evolves again after level 50 (other than special evolutions) or is there something else here I am not understanding, because my mags have never gotten up to level 50 before

  Council Brainstorm!!!
Posted by: Shade - 15-08-2006, 05:20 PM - Forum: Shadow Council - Replies (15)

Right... we need a makeover... everything (except the oh so cool name) must change!!!

We have tried 3 (i think) times to make the shadow council HUGE... but now we need to establish ourselves across the net as a REAL clan, with a proper site that we can all use effectively, and that will draw in new members!!

Anyone who has ideas or wishes to create this site (they need to be absolutly serious about it though) please post here...

oh and try to round up some of the older clanmembers iff possible... we all miss them lol XD

  Microsoft plans "community-powered arcade"
Posted by: Phantom_RAcast - 14-08-2006, 11:56 PM - Forum: Gaming - Replies (1)

http://www.joystiq.com/2006/08/14/micros...xna-tools/

Microsoft spoke with us on the phone last week concerning the events going on at their Gamefest event happening in Seattle today and tomorrow. Two and a half years ago they unveiled the XNA platform at the Game Developer's Conference -- which promised to ameliorate the increasing burden placed professional game developers -- and today they've announced XNA Game Studio Express -- a free variant of XNA for hobbyists to develop games on both the Windows and, for a fee, Xbox 360 platforms. A beta will be available August 30th as a free download for Windows XP development, while Xbox 360 functionality will be added into the final version, expected to be available this holiday for a $99 annual subscription.

The product aims to address three unique challenges Microsoft sees facing the games industry: keeping people in the industry (crunch mode sucks), building up the pipeline of new entrants coming into the industry (they'll work with universities), and helping grow the audience to match industry growth (new ideas mean new gamers).

This enthusiast offering will be followed next spring with a professional offering, allowing small studios to sell the games they're developing. While they have no price point fixed just yet, they did tell us they "are looking at a price point of absolutely under $1000," a fair share cheaper than existing devkits.

The $99 subscription grants you access to the (tentatively titled) "creator's club," which will also offer downloadable sample games to help would be game developers get started. Unfortunately, these sample games will not be available outside of the subscription service to entice curious coders to participate, but they are a launching point for the most exciting, innovative, and (understandably) long-term goal of this project. A community-powered Xbox Live Arcade gaming space. Scott Henson, Director of the Game Development Group at Microsoft, told us:

"In the future -- we don't have a specific time frame -- we envision investing in the infrastructure to create a friction-free distribution environment very similar to what you see with YouTube. You've got these really cheap accessible tools, now wouldn't it be really cool if you had a way to share this stuff with people online, potentially sell it in time to people online, and what if we, Microsoft, created the platform and the distribution mechanism as a part of the Xbox Live service so you could do that. So our vision and our ambition is to actually create a community-powered arcade."

As a result, they imagine a "cultural phenomenon" similar to YouTube where would be game designers upload their creations and participate in an online community with the meritocratic notion that better games will inevitably rise to the top. With the announcement that 10 universities will be integrating XNA Game Studio Express into their curriculum, we imagine a great deal of content on just such a future service.

Just as Xbox Live debuted with the original Xbox, but took the concentrated focus of the 360 to fully exploit it, we wonder how long it will be until we as gamers really start to reap the benefits of these ambitious plans, either in the form of a community-powered arcade or innovative indie games. Continue reading the entire press release, pasted below, for all the details.

Sounds really interesting, I wonder how much it will allow you to do.

  Fanfic?
Posted by: Mewone - 14-08-2006, 01:09 AM - Forum: Fanworks - Replies (4)

Well I've had this old fanfic I never finished, but have around 50 chapters of...I was wondering if there is enough of a population here to take interest in it? The beginning is quite choppy, but I've decided to not rewrite it both because I am lazy and because it reminds me of just how terrible I was at writing when this started. It's almost a good example of what not to do, but perhaps some would find it entertaining, nonetheless, until I get to the better parts.

If there is enough of an interest, I'll post it here, one or two chapters a week, until it gets to the point where I'll slow down because I have to write as I go. Give feedback, I guess?

  Resident Evil 4... ish...

Resident Evil 4 (Kinda!)

This 'spoof' of Resi 4 is so dam funny it'll make you laugh for face off for ages! Those who have played the game will make a particular note of key events and people in this film too from the game, such as the Merchant! (How does it get around the place so quickly? Tongue)

The people who made this film also originally made a spoof film of the original Resident Evil games too that you should also check out if you've got THAT much spare time! But in the meanwhile... watch this now!!!

  Ninety-Nine Nights! [N3]
Posted by: Lee-yoshi - 12-08-2006, 08:45 PM - Forum: Gaming - No Replies

A little while ago i spent my time spending days downloading trailers of it all after hearing news that is will be getting released outside of Japan for Xbox360. I'd seen a bit of it before and it looked f**kin' awesome, but never looked anymore into it after reading on IGN it was only being released in Japan, which confused me seeing as it was being made only for Xbox360 *wacko* But now it is getting a European release, this game simply put looks the god damn nuts!

Trailers

Screenies

Imagine Dynasty Warriors but times the madness by 100! In one of the trailers, this one character gets over 1,000 kills in about 1 - 2 minutes! It also looks super crisp sharp graphics wise and seems like it's got some ace gameplay too.

Now it's present day and there's a demo of it on Xbox Live! Spent a fair while playing it too ^_^

This game has some of the most amazing graphics and defo the most devestating combo's EVER put into a game! There's just so many enemies on the screen at one time aswell, it's unbelievable! The most devestating combo (Although i don't quite know how i did it! I wish they'd include better instructions with the dam demo!) makes your character jump up until the air and hit the ground as if it's a meteorite, and you can see loads of enemies fly for miles up and away through the sky - Brilliant stuff - The kinda stuff you'd only expect to see in films! ZOMG i think i just spunked a little... ^_^;;;

Erm... anyways? Who else will join me in the world of 99 Nights?! It gets released pretty dam soon too, play the demo nooowwwwww!!! Tongue
