anything that u r completly obsessed with? do u know someone who is obsessed with something? i dont mean u just like it, i mean that all u do is that and all u talk about is about that. lets c, a few years ago, vahn and a few people were obsessed with that one online game, runescape i think, and at school that was all they would talk about. sad. at one point, i was obsessed with the whole metroid series, the period of metroid fusion and prime.

Non TA
Ok easiest stage, shouldnt be too much trouble especially if youre just clearing it.
Average time: anything less than 15 minutes
oh and before i forget, this applies to every challenge TA or not, designate somebody as the box collector (you dont need to actually say it, its implied by your class). RAs are always box collectors, but if youre TAing there should be no RAs, so its the most useless HU/FO for the moment (the one doing little killing at the moment) or the one whos nearest to the boxes lol.
Downloading quest guide......100% go!
1. Start off by running to the door on the left, enter the room and kill the monsters while your box collector gets the three boxes on the left and stands on the switch for somebody to get the four behind the laser fence. Just kill everything and go to the door when it opens
2. same strategy as room 1, kill the monsters be careful yada yada yada, get boxes. Oh and dont even heal until you reach level 2, its just a waste of mates and you should be level 2 by this room (unless its a really good map and theres been few monsters).
3. Ok now some strategy applies. Get your box collector and one of your more useful teammates to stay here in room three, the other 2 people run back to room 2. Ill refer to the group in room 3 as Group A and this Group as Group B.
4. Group A- have your box collector break the four boxes nearest to where they came in and stand on the switch, the other person goes behind the laser fence and steps on that switch. Wait until the person comes out of the laser fence area before you step of that switch box collector! Now just stay in this room, kill the monsters if you want (you dont have to but for exp you probably should) and make sure to get the boxes (the FO needs barta if you can get it).
Group B- in room 2 there was a big grayish black cylinder, when Group A hits that switch, itll move back revealing a warp. Go in it, and youll end up in the room just south of where Group A is. Kill the monsters here and when theyre all dead, the laser fence will unlock. Have only 1 person go this way, that 1 person: bring up your start menu or item menu so the monsters dont slow you down and just get the switch and run out, no fighting, no box collecting. While that person is getting the switch, the other person should be getting the two sets of boxes in the room. Once thats done, both people should run to the north door of the room they warped into (the one that leads back to room 3 where group A was).
5. Group A- The switch Group B hit will unlock the door near the laser fence, run through together. Have the box collector hit the switch in the same room as the warp to the next area and collect the boxes. The other person should run into the next room, bring up your start menu and run to the blue laser grid switch at the far end of the room and run out (no fighting/box collecting).
That will lower the lasers guarding the warp to the next area. Group A, just run into the warp for Area 2
Group B- the first switch A hit will open the north door of that room (the one you should be waiting at), now just run to the warp to area 2 (if A killed the monsters, theres nothing in your way).
Area 2- estimated time: around 5 minutes
Good youre all together again, hurrah...anyway. Now Hidlebears will appear, barta would be a good thing for your FO to have and always have androids drop freeze traps on the bears. Thats about all you need to know.
1. You could get the 5 boxes in the room you warp into if you really need to but probably shouldnt (especially if youre shooting for a good time), so just run ahead and fight the monsters in this room. The 4 boxes in this room are ok to get so do so. Kill everything and go through the unlocked door.
2. ignore the first two doors to the left (one right after you exit and one a little down the path) and continue down the long stretch killing everything on the way. Once everything is dead, exit thru the door on the far left from where you entered (you entered from the north so exit southeast, itll be your characters left from where you entered though so just remember that).
3. another battle royale room, kill everything and when the laser fence unlock, have one person stand on the switch, this will lower the other laser fence. Only have 1 person go thru that way and the other 3 wait near the big grayish cylinder. To the solo person: Go through the warp, then go right back through the same warp (the one right behind you) and then hit the switch, this will let the other 3 through. Now everybody warp.
4. Up near the dragon now, kill the monsters here while the box collector gets the 5 boxes. Once everything is dead, Go on to the next room.
5. Grab the four boxes, drop any mates or materials your other members need (you shouldve been putting them at the doorways of the exits to each room throughout the whole thing but just in case you havent had the chance to put them down before). And go in the warp.
Area 3- The dragon, estimated time: about 10 minutes
Real simple, all the HUs attack his feet but when hes about to fall (after losing about 200-300 hp) back up a bit. Hit his head with a Strong, Strong, Strong combo. FOs, use barta from a distance (stay away from his front so he doesnt hit you with fire) and RAs, shoot its head but avoid fire attack. When he dives, stay along the outer edge of the room with your Area map on screen so you can move if need be. Basic Dragon strategy people, with any luck youll have him beat in less than 15.
Onto Stage 2, read on for my TA guide
TA
Good TA time: 8 minutes or less (dont worry, ive never done this, my best is my FOnl with 8 min exactly, but ive been trying with Lion forever and his time is 10:25. The JP can get aroun 6:30 though and theyve set the standard of 8- being good lol)
notes
No matter how good a guide i write, TA is dependent upon luck mostly. You need to get a good map, one that yields few monsters and good items. Needless to say, that takes time. Another note is this, for this stage, TA is pretty much the same situation as the regular except you cannot get boxes unless i specify them.
1. Run quickly to room 1, kill the monsters and only grab the three boxes
2. Room 2- kill monsters, grab 4 boxes
3. Split up into A and B, have force be in Group A for sure (you need the FO to go into Area 2 first and kill any Bears with barta quickly). Perform the same way you did before except as quickly as you can. Everything still applies with the switches, the person in Group B who doesnt go past the laser fence should still get the boxes (you NEED barta for your FO in TA, its necessary for speed). So you should now be ready to enter Area 2
Area 2 estimated time: less than 3 minutes.
1. Hopefully the FO has dealt with any bears that may have dropped in for a visit, kill everything, get the four boxes and go.
2. Clear out this room and go on.
3. Clean this room up, have the one person go through and flip the switch for the cylinder. Everybody warp up.
4. Clean this room, dont get the 5 boxes (unless you still dont have barta) and go on
5. Grab the four boxes if you need barta or mates, warp to Dragon
Area 3- The Dragon Estimated time: less than 6 minutes.
FOs barta the crap outta the dragon, HUs never attack the same part of the dragon, have the strongest HU hitting the head with an S, S, S combo and the other hitting the feet witht he same combo. FO, feel free to die for TP and grab an extra doll from whichever HU is confident enough in his survival tactics. You should have him beat and hopefully (with a whole ton of luck) in less than 8 minutes.
Hope that helps, later stages coming soon.

| The TA (Time Attack) Guide for Challenge mode |

first notes
Read my challenge mode etitquite guide before you even read another line of this. That said, this is more how to TA not stage by stage walkthrough using the TA rules. I still have to write the regular guides for challenge mode.
Job Classes and their duties
Hunters
Dont even think of using the HUnewearl for TA, the JP will slap you lol
HUmar-An unusual choice for TA because he doesnt specialize in anything and he has no traps but ive opted for this choice and my HUmar has my second best srank time (and im not done TAing yet!). If youre a HUmar, youre job is relatively easy, use the weak, weak, strong combo on everything (except for big monster with low evade and bosses where you should weak strong strong or Strong strong strong). SAVE YOUR MATES! I cannot stress that enough, you have to pay constant attention to how much exp you have til your next level up so you dont waste mates. Using the suggested combo, you should not get hit too much (especially if youre good at being a hunter and run around a bit) so you shouldnt use too many mates. If you have a gun, use it to save mates. Give your scape doll to the Force in the party (there should always be a force in TA) about halfway through the challenge, if youre leary of giving it up, get your hands on a gun or some extra mates (the FO should drop them) so theres less of a chance of dying. As a HUm your def is pretty good but if your health drops below half, use a mate in case of critical hits (or use a mate if you get the full benefit of it, like if you get all 80Hp a monomate gives you). Always drop any fluids you have to the force. Hmm thats about it.
HUcast- The number 1 choice among JP players, though ive never TAed as a HUct, i still know what they need to do for the party. Much of the rules for the HUmar apply here, you still use the same combo. The notable difference is you never want to use a gun as a HUct unless it has exceptional %s (mainly hit) because HUcts have crap for ATA. HUcts can take the abuse of fighting with melee weaps so dont worry about wasting mates (dont go crazy but you dont need to be as conservative as the HUmar). As far as traps go, use confuse on big groups of grunt monsters (the lower class ones) and Freeze on higher level ones. You can also use damage on big groups and use damage traps on poufilly slimes when theyre in the ground as a puddle.
HUcaseal- This is a good choice, my HUcl has my best time. Shes got the best melee weap combos, best accuracy and evade of the hunters. Meleeing with her isnt too much of a problem because youll block many of the hits. Give all the good guns to her because she can equip and make use of most of them. The trap system for her remains the same as the HUct. The combo you want to do is weak strong strong on everything (except low evade monsters/bosses which is strong strong strong), give all daggers and mechguns to her.
Forces
All of the forces are generally the same, i would suggest using a FOneweral because of the highest MST and basic tech boost (which you will mostly use). However, if the fraility of a FOnl doesnt appeal to you, use a FOnm, hes the secod best MST and gets the gi/ra boost (you wont use too much of that though). I wouldnt suggest using FOmar or FOmarl in TA
FOanything-Know your elemental weaknesses well! That way you dont waste tp on spells that arent having maximum efficiency. Like the hunters, conserve your fluids and drop your mates for the HUs. Time your level ups so they come right when you run out of TP and also time it so you find a health ring right as you run out of tp. Cast Shifta and Deband on the party only when youre about to level up or when youre in a health ring. Get the scape dolls from the HUs and when you run out of fluids, arent close to leveling, and are nowhere near a health ring, die for tp using the extra scapes from the HUs. Try to only cast one to two spells on every monster, even though you have the extra scape dolls to die for tp and in TA Forces are the fastest killing machines, you probably shouldnt need more than 2 spells until C7 and up. If youre the only one fighting monsters in that part of the room then go crazy but just make sure you got a back up for your TP. Also, if youre close to leveling but out of TP, attempt to strike monsters once then run so you get exp and dont have to waste a doll however if youre goin for best time, just die and go crazy with your magic, thats how the JP have Srank times that are 3hours and 30 minutes or less.
Rangers
Dont ever use for TA, they just waste space.
materials: who uses which
Power: The HUm or HUcl uses the first 2 or 3 you find, the rest go to the HUcast
Def: Always FO unless you find like 4 or more, then the FO should give them to the others (id say HUcl first then HUmar)
Mind: Always FO
Evade: Always HU, start with HUct then HUmar
Luck: Any of the HUs
HP: Always FO unless, like mind, you get a crap load then distribute them to the HUcl then HUmar
TP: Always FO
Weapons:Which are good to use and who should use them
Melee-
Saber type: All HUs use this (hell you start with it most of the time lol). ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS give the high hit% weaps to the HUct and the high % of the enemies youre fighting to the HUmar/HUcl. IF you get an abundance of hit % weaps, give it to everybody but make sure the HUct has the best of them.
Sword type: Stay away from them (even though you start with them on C3 C4 C7 and C8 lol). Theyre too slow and even leave the HUcl open to attack, not to mention inaccurate and they lower your evade. Even if you get one with high hit %, dont use it unless theres a big group (and by high hit i mean like 60% or higher)
Daggers: A good choice but if theres a HUcl in the party, give them to her, shes got the best combo ever for most melee weaps. Hi hit % and % on the monsters youre fighting make these one of the best weaps to use because they get 6 hits, and 6 strong hits with 50% or higher on the type of monster in the area=big damage and HUcl can use them REAL quick.
Partisan: A little better than swords but still i wouldnt suggest using them. Same rules apply as the sword
Slicer: Dont use, not worth it.
Ranged weapons:
Handgun: Good option for anybody (except FOs) especially if youre trying to conserve mates. If you get a good hit % handgun, give it to the HUmar, he can make awesome use of it.
Mechgun: Give the really good hit % to the HUmar and the semi good Hit %-> to no hit % to the HUcl.
Magic based weaps:
For all-Unless it has dim or shadow on it, dont even try to melee. If it does have on of those two, attempt to instant kill monsters when youre low on tp.
Misc Notes
NEVER EVER ATTACK THE SAME MONSTER AS SOMEBODY ELSE. This especially applies to forces, as that is SUCH a waste of TP. Unless its the last monster in the room DO NOT attack the same one as someone else.
I would suggest playing thru challenge mode around 5 times before attempting TA, that way you know all the puzzles well and youre able to distinguish a good map from a bad one within the first area (by good map, i mean how many monsters per wave and how many waves).
If youre going to restart due to a bad map, always let somebody different die each time so you get a new gravestone. Each person gets one grave and each grave has a chance of dropping mates/fluids so the more the better.
Often shout out the amount of mates and dolls you have in this order: monomate dimate dolls so itll look like 7 4 2 or something like that. That lets the team know to drop supplies at the door if you need it.
TA is A LOT of patience, you have to wait for a good team and there is a lot of restarting involved since many maps are bad. Get used to dying a lot in order to get the best map (to get a new map you cannot pick "try again" after somebody has died, you must quit, go back to the lobby, and remake the room. Annoying i know, but worth it? oh yes).
Im pretty sure ive covered everything, ill add in more if i realize i forgot a detail. Ill start writing the stage guides for EP1 real soon.

Hey!
I really like Miyazaki's cartoons. I saw Spirited Away in the cinema, and it's probably my favourite. Also, I watched Totoro the other day, I really liked it, but it was in Cantonese (with a running occasional commentry/translation from my girlfriend and her mother) so I probably didn't quite get all of it.
So, what do you guys think of Miyazaki?
