XBox 360 2005’s Tickle me Elmo?

Here it is Thursday, November 24th, Happy Thanksgiving, and the news is showing 3 top stoties. Hurricane Katrina Victims, War on Iraq, and XBox 360.
Go to Ebay and theres are bids ranging from $0.01-$750K. But if you look for a core system there in $5k range.
Dejavu, Does anyone Remeber the "Tickle Me Elmo" doll? People paid between $500-$2000 for one. In one instance a father was shot over a $400 deal that went wrong. To make matters worse the TME was taking as evidence so his child never even recieved it. Then to add insult to injuries the TME phased out with in a few months.
I know you cant compare TME to 360, but I thinks its ridiculous to pay 10x+ the value for something that will be around til appx 2010 when the "next" Next Generation of game systems will be out? As for me, I have 12-24 months til it drops in price before I buy one.

Those prices are silly, but your vote misses out an essential and one of the most obvious options: "I just don't want one."

I was shocked when I was browsing ebay and found one that was at 10k. Thats a little ridicilous, if only they were to wait a couple months when there wasnt a shortage. I've heard though that they have heating issues, I'll try and find a link if I can.

Before the Xbox 360 was released I did not want one as I'm not a big Microsoft fan. But last Saturday I played a 360 at gamestop and really liked that Call of Duty 2 demo. So I got interested in a Xbox 360. My friend got a 360 at the Ebgames midnight party deal. I've played his Xbox 360 for several hours and I really like it. My local Gamestop has some of the second shipment availible as they had some people cancel their pre-orders so if all goes well I can get me one of those. I don't have the cash for one yet but my friend has put one on pre-order just incase I can get the cash. So I can have one in the second shipment if I can pull the cash together. I'll be getting a premium system as the core system is a waste of cash.
