Gif maker and screenshots/movies
#1
-gif maker-
Does anyone knows were i can find a free , no trial letters gif maker, i used one called jasc software but it expired, so i need a new one that can simply put images together and animate.......if anyone knows a link or a site, i would apreciate

-screenshot/movies-
so i have a dreamcast and not a computer, on a pc i can use fraps or similar programs to record movies and to take screenshots, unfortunatly i play in a dreamcast and the screenshots are pitiful and far away of being the bestquallity, not to mention it takes alot of memory, time and even a 2nd controler to do it.
is there a way to record it to my computer and take screenshots.
i found this guide on another site but i hate french and don't know 95 % of what's there
http://www.blue-rappy.com/divers/?screenshots.php3
do i need just some cables and a program, or do i need to buy a specific part, cables and a program to make it work?

also note that i'm not sure if this is in the right forum....

GIMP is able to be used to make animations, it's free.

Which trial version of Jasc is it? If it's the one that came with Paint Shop Pro 5, I know a trick: change your computer date to before it expired. Open the program, and change it back afterwards. You could try it for other versions. Might work too.

Does your computer support S-video or Composite cables in? If not, you'll need to buy a TV tuner card. The cheapest are about £25-30, maybe around 35 Euros. Then you can just plug the DC into the computer as if you're plugging it into the TV. The program I use on the computer is D-Scaler http://deinterlace.sourceforge.net/ and it's free and gives good quality images on your computer screen.

I asked about something similiar:

Yours will be clearer than mine because I'm only using composite and not S-video. You should be able to record from it. At least you'll be able to take clearer screenshots.

Hope it helps.

Use the default driver that came with your TV card? Find out the name/make of the TV card online and install that?
