Actually what PSO Plus fixes is the double save, but it still does double save if you join a game. Having no double save in most cases DOES help prevent lobby-reload FSODX (corruption done by hackers) because, IIRC, the FSOD strikes during the second save. Having plus does nothing to stop FSOD, however.
I also think that if you have AR or know someone who does, recreating a FSOD-lost item is legit if you give it the same attributes as before. This is why I take pictures of all new weapons I get (untekked if possible); I have plus, so I can't dupe until I borrow a non-plus copy or ask a trusted friend to dupe for me (that's another thing, I would NEVER ask a known illegit to dupe an item for me). So during that time my new weapons are vulnerable. However, I know someone who does "hackback" services as long as you provide proof of former ownership, so I take pictures.
Finally, if you recieve a hacked item that's identical to one you lost, IMO you can keep it, treating it as a 1:1 event. Or if you have an identical item you could treat it just like you do any backup (remember that illegits with ARs could just as easily hack an identical weapon, so it's no loss to them). The attributes have to be identical, though; no accepting a wep with better percents, or even lesser percents IMO (one illegit offered me a Yamigarasu with two -5 percents, but I didn't take it as a backup because mine was percentless). Example: I know someone who lost a percentless Red Saber to FSOD. A week or so later, we found in a stack of illegit items a red saber, also percentless but fully grinded. As I figured, if the guy throws away 78 grinders, nothing gained, and nothing lost in the end.
