Well, if you belive me, Square did a racing game before Final Fantasy that, i believe, was the precursor to the basic physicis engine. You'd actually skid off the road if you took a turn too fast!
Anyway, the game was called Rad Racer, but I can't seem to find a screen shot of it. NVNC ID VIDES, NVNC NE VIDES
