For the question at hand... online GCN games require the adapter that allows for a wired internet connection to work on the Revo. This is not Nintendo's fault... PSO simply does NOT like wireless connections. Even on the GCN, a special adapter other than the modem or broadband adapter was needed for wireless connections.

So basically... it works exactly the same... you just need to get another adapter... which I find kinda annoying because most people don't use wireless internet.
