you didn't do it, it was the driver that hit him. there's no need to blame yourself, especially since there was a 50:50 chance that you would have had to have gone out and gotten hit instead. i'm sorry that it happened, but there was nothing you could do and it's not your fault.

But there's nothing you can do now, the past is the past. Get off the computer, (like now) and go to room and cry like a bitch for several days, that usually makes things a little better. I did it when my cat died.
