What did I lose you on? The new attack system is that all the attacks now have a category of either physical or special, and that determines the stat used for damage, where before it was the attack type; dragon, dark, ghost, normal, etc. which determined which stat was used.
PSU Characters:
Azel, lvl 90 (FT lvl 10)
Miriya KadreshiOrta, lvl 32 (FigG lvl 2)
Collette, lvl 28 (force lvl 5/hunter lvl 5)

Well the new attack system loses me abit. I understand the three category system. But how do you know which attack falls into a paticular catagoy. I understand the status attacks like stun spore and thunder wave go under special. But What would attacks like solar beam and snore be under physical, special or other?

Solar Beam would be a special attack, Snore i think is also special. I believe the moves themselves have the new category so you know. And for the most part it makes sense to the move, like the element punches are all under the physical type now instead of special as the Pokemon must physically hit the other.

Ummmm....Blast Burn and Fire Blast on a Charizard are horrible. DDtar pwns it. If you go with the new "standard set" Earthquake is good coverage, but you should've gone with a mixed sweeper. (Metal Claw and Aerial Ace are underestimated....

People are liking Feather Rest. I personally would use this for a Mixed Sweeper.

Feather Rest
Aerial Ace/Dragon Claw (For more type matching, the only thing that resists this with 'not very effective damage is Steel.)
EQ
Flamethrower (The base damage isn't that much lower than Fire Blast, and has a 95% accuracy.)

Or
Dragon Claw
Flame thrower
EQ
filler

DC is useful vs real dragons, that's true. But that's why I have a rayquaza/sala in my party with dragon claw. It's kinda unnecesarry on a zard. Also I prefer sky attack to aerial ace. Because it's oldschool. Can someone enlighten me as to why so many people use flamethrower? It's not all that powerful compared to many other fire moves, even if it's a little more accurate. I trust in luck to some degree I guess, that the attacks I use will hit.

If I didn't have a proper dragon in my party with powerful atk/sp.atk I'd use your variation on a zard. For sure.

I hope they will put bite back to being a normal attack. How is bite a dark move? It's no more dark than scratch or tackle.

And it always kinda bugged me that Hyper Beam wasn't a special attack o_O

It is. That's why Crunch is so lethal now on Todaitos. Both Bite and Crunch are physical Dark attacks. With a maxed stat on Todaitos 348 and Crunch Special Gengar are toast. Unfortunately Dotaitos has a Super Effective (X2) weakness to poison, unlike it's Venusaur predecessors.

So basically, Bite and Crunch are physical.

The grass starter and water starters are the best respectively.

With Emperuto getting Water/Steel aand Dotaitos getting Grass/Ground respectively.

Todaitos is a tank/physical sweeper something like

Crunch
Seed Bomb (for no recoil)/Wood Hammer (For 120 base damage but recoil)
Leech Seed (for the lost HP)/Earthquake (It's a ground type after all)
Curse/Swords Dance

Flamethrower is there because of it's accuracy. When you actually calculate the damage. It's almost negligible. I think the difference in damage, regardless of base damage, when multiplied out is 35 in a competition from a Fire Blast/Flamethrower comparison. In the Metagame, when you're going for 200+ damage per hit, 35 is null, especially when you are going to be knocked out in 3 turns top. You don't need it. Me, I prefer Fire Blast on there for the normal story mode as it can hurt the gym's, but something with high special defense in WiFi will not be that affected. Blast Burn isn't needed when something will switch in on you that you're weak too (Cradily or something with Arena trap that will have EQ. EQ is on almost everything, because most things can learn it, don't ask me why. Your standard everything has EQ TTar, DDtar, Charizard, Bellyzard, Whishcash, Blastoise, EVERYTHING!!!)
