Rurouni Kenshin, Greatest anime?
#31
OMG that OVA was painful...did you actually watch it in english or are you just going off what i said? Pena rented that movie specifically and made me watch it in english...

You guys are a bunch of morons! There is absolutly no problem with the dubbed versions of any anime...I watch Rurouni Kenshin on TV everytime it comes on, and I think that it is the most awesome anime ever! I hate subtitles, it distracts from the show to have to read them. I'd rather actually watch the show, not the subtitles...fools...

no youre obviously an idiot, whenever something is subtitled, that means its edited too (unless its on the DVDs). But if you watch it on TV (like you said you do with Kenshin), youre missing about half the episode. Did you know that Kenshin got implailed on the episode he fought Saito? i can guarantee you didnt because on the edited version they didnt show it (i watched that whole ep edited and almost cried because they took out around 2minutes of the show and it was my favorite ep in the uncut version).

I'm an idiot because I want to watch a show without having to read at the same time? Thats some pretty flawed logic...If you can even call it logic...

not really its perfect logic, it just shows your laziness (which is pretty bad considering youre already just sitting around watching TV). Besides, if you dont wanna read, learn JP (im starting too!) In English, anime is ruined. You realize your excuse is soooooo overused, its what everyone says that doesnt have a good reason to watch anime the real way.

Lazy? How does that make me lazy? Again with the flawed logic...

because youre not even willing to read a couple of lines every couple of seconds when youre already sitting down and doing nothing. Thats pretty lazy...not only that but you dont miss anything in the episode (if you know how to read with your periffrial -sp?- vision-which any veteran anime viewer knows how to do) by reading.

You don't seem to understand the my point, you're just shunning my ideas as idiotic because you don't agree...I mean, sure the dubbed version has some problems(such as how they say "Japanese sword" instead of katana...for some reason), but that doesn't mean it's complete crap. However, if we were talking about DBZ, I would totally agree with you, the beginning in particular...That was such horrible crap that I watch it just to make fun of it(They don't even say kill, they say "Send to the next dimension", it's so dumb).

yeah but thats how most anime is believe it or not. Most the dubbed versions are really that bad and you dont know it until youve seen the original Jp versions. Like i said, they hacked Kenshin to hell and im getting so mad about it because its my fav series ever and ive seen it in both JP on Cartoon Network and i wanted to cry after seeing it on CN, they edit TOO much out.

Anime is only good in japanese, bottom line. English voice actors never put enough emotion into anything, or if they do put emotion into their acting, it's completely inappropriate. I'm a pretty lazy guy, but I still put the subtitles on when I watch anime. And for anyone who doesn't watch much anime or hasn't gotten started yet, Japanese with English subtitles is the only way to go.
