I just heard some news and wanted to know if it was true. Do you need an Xbox live account in order to play PSO offline?

Yes you do. You'll need an Xbox Live account to play it either offline or online.

Thats the reason why i didnt bother buying it for my XBox.. Thats why my good old gc is still my fav !
