  Hard Ruins
Posted by: NoX - 05-04-2006, 07:05 PM - Forum: Hunter - Replies (10)

Ok first things first! I want to say Hi because I'm new to this forum, well I've checked it out but not registerred. And second I have a question? Simply what level do you suggest I complete Hard Ruins on? I'm currently level 46 and all the other areas were piece a cake but when I get to Ruins I'll die in five minutes (well I guess I would survive longer). I use the Soul Eater and a DB-Saber +24 but I just cant seem to kill the monsters fast enough! So should I train or get new wepons?

Don't use rechargeable batteries on a GBA
Posted by: Mirinee - 05-04-2006, 12:24 AM - Forum: Lobby - Replies (4)

I was bored yesterday and started looking at my GBA (not SP) manual, and it says not to use Rechargeable batteries, only alkaline ones. It doesn't explain. It just stresses "don't" in more than 3 separate places. Also, it says not to mix old and new batteries. Why's that?

*Curious*
Thanks if someone can try to explain. Smile

  PSO Plus Change?
Posted by: Noir - 04-04-2006, 11:30 PM - Forum: Lobby - Replies (2)

A couple of questions about PSO Plus. I have been reading for the last couple of hours but unable to find an answer to my first question.

1. In PSOPlus, are the Gene Flow and Red Ring dropped by their respective bosses? I know they don't drop in the original copy, but I guess I'm just vainly hoping for some... relief. I really want a dark flow.

2. How do I get the... Fire Dome Swirl? I don't know the name for sure. I know Seat of Heart and Tower quests are ep.2

Thanks.

  Super Mario Ohio, USA!

Girls attempt real-life version of video game
Residents alarmed; teens could be charged

Five teenage girls from Portage County face potential criminal charges after attempting to play a real-life version of Super Mario Bros.

The Portage County Hazardous Materials Unit and Bomb Detection Unit were called in to downtown Ravenna on Friday morning after seventeen suspicious packages -- boxes wrapped in gold wrapping paper with question marks spray painted on them -- had alarmed residents.

Boxes were found at the Immaculate Conception Church on West Main Street, the Portage County Courthouse, Deluxe Pastries, the corner of Cherry Way and Main Street, Reed Memorial Library, Ravenna High School and a residence at Sanford and Main streets.

Five girls -- age 16 and 17 -- claimed responsibility for making and placing the packages. The girls said they found an Internet site that included step-by-step instructions for creating replicas of blocks featured in the game.

The Ravenna Police Department will be working with the Portage County Prosecutor's Office regarding possible criminal charges as a result of the game.

You can call the bomb squad, but what are they gonna do when they open up up the question marked box only to find koopa's, oversized novetly golden coins, or giant green mushrooms getting out? Tongue

  PSU Closed Beta
Posted by: Battle Angel - 04-04-2006, 02:56 PM - Forum: Lobby - Replies (43)

Apparently Fridays's missing update turned into a special announcement found this morning on the PSU website. A PSU closed trial!!

http://segalink.jp/trial/psucbt/

Since I don't know a single bit of Japanese I would assume it would only be available to those in Japan, and to those with a SEGA Link account.

Arrgh... I want to take a crash course in Japanese...

  TimeSplitters Map Competition
Posted by: SilentShadow13 - 04-04-2006, 04:55 AM - Forum: Gaming - Replies (2)

This is a friendly map competition for TimeSplitters: Future Perfect. I will be one of the map judges and I will attempt to get Playmaker in on the judging action.

Simple rules:

Quote:1. No Assault/Story mode maps.
2. No glitch maps. If any glitches are found, the map will be immediately disqualified.
3. One map per contestant.

To Submit a Map:
Quote:1. Post here and tell me your GamerTag, name of map, and recomended game modes.
2. Send me a Friend Request. (My GamerTag is in my sig.)
3. Send me the map recomendation. (Send me a pm if you are unsure how to do this.)

The Prizes:
Quote:First Place: Uber Bragging Rights
Second Place: Major Bragging Rights
Third Place: Bragging Rights

I will download your map and play-test it extensively. While play-testing online, I will be look in at the following criteria:
Quote:1. Gameplay: How much fun do people have on your map?
2. Ease of Movement: Do people get lost on the map a lot? Is the map easy to navigate?
3. Placement of Items: Are the spawn points, weapons, ammo, and health-and-armor well-placed?
4. Use of MapMaker features: Did you utilize doors, windows, buttons and vehicles? If so, are they well-placed? (In the case of vehicles, are they easy to navigate?)
4. Use of Lighting: Did your use of lighting add to the map in any way?
5. Complexity: Does your map effectivly utilize different levels or different arangements of tiles?

I will also be looking at your map in the MapMaker and judging it on:
Quote:1. Effective Use of Space: Does your map feel really large, yet not take up a lot of space in the MapMaker? If so, you get some points! (I am judging on this because extra space will allow you to easily make larger maps if you were to do so.)
2. Complexity: If your map looks complicated and well-thought out in the MapMaker, you get points! (This is to see just how good you are at visualizing the map mentaly as you are designing it.)

Finally, I will be judging you on:
Quote:1. Tile Set Selection: Does your map's tile set compliment the feel of the gameplay? (A horror map will go well with creepy gameplay.)
2. Lighting Effects: Does the lighting on the map compliment gamplay? (A dark level is god with creepy gameplay.)
3. Music: Does the music compliment the gameplay? (A quick song goes well with a fast-paced deathmatch map.)
4. Overall Look and Feel of the Map: Do the music, lighting, and tile set all compliment each other to give the map a certain tone?

The deadline for submitting maps is April 15 at 12:00 PM EST. I will not be too strict with this, but be as on-time as possible.

Current Competitors with Map Submissions:
Quote:Sadly, there are none right now, but check back soon!

(Please note that I am also running this in another forum.)

  Old Skool Online
Posted by: SilentShadow13 - 04-04-2006, 04:39 AM - Forum: Help - Replies (4)

does anyone know if it is still possible to use the DC online? I realize that no one will be online, but PSO does have a very obsessed, I mean dedicated... fan base, and the DC has the web browser and other online thingamabobs that seem neat, even if only 3 other people are ever on.

If anyone knows if the SegaNet servers are still running, it would be pretty cool.

Ok, now you can start laughing at me...
