Personally I believe that accepting an illegit wep with identical percents cancels out FSOD loss and becomes "your" legit weapon. I have done this once or twice. The difficulty is, most commonly passed-around weapons have 90%s or 100%s in several places, including hit. You can't really accept those to cover FSOD loss because you get a huge advantage by doing so.

About that BSOD thing: that method also covers disc read errors. A couple weeks ago I got two disc read errors in the same day (perhaps from a lot of piping that week, but I haven't piped anything since and no more after that)... the first was in game and happened while trying to load a character. I stupidly turned off the cube and got the FSOD effect. The second time was just entering a lobby once, it tried to load my character and BSODed. I opened the disc cover, wiped the disc off, popped it back in, and the screen came back on with a frozen lobby and a DC message. From that point you can soft reset (X-B-Start) and save your data, then restart instead of losing anything to the FSOD effect.

Maybe that's been covered here, but I missed it.

I hold the same view, but I have an AR so rather then wait for someone to be nice I just go "Oh yeah? heh stupid game, thinks it has got me well I'll have the last laugh" and bank mod the item back in myself.

I don't do that unless its an item I have lost that I found myself legit. Its just unfair that the game thinks it can yoink things from me!

Always thought you was legit, or do you consider yourself legit and try to justify that you ain't cheating, just cos' some anal retentive FSOD you, thought you was Anti Hacker, not Anti Hacker When It Suits Me And I Can Try To Justify It, that's like me saying I'm a non-smoker except for cigarettes, meh, not that I give a cr*p either way.

To be honest, I haven't noticed much FSOD on PSO recently, I guess as things die down, people get bored with it, FSOD'ers generally have a short attention span anyhow, lol.

Sega don't care, nor do the FSOD'ers, it's kind of a win-win situation for continual gamers now.

Out of interest, has there been any new FSOD methods discovered recently, I don't want to know how to do them or anything, just what they are and how to prevent them, I'm willing to bet some people are still doing it.

i hate fsod as much as you i know how to use it but wont tell. But i will tell how to prevent it this worked four me once and ive used it once. Get 2 memory cards then when the 1 says its corrupt put in the other memory card that isnt corrupt click on multi-mode switch em' round and your chars should be there hurray hurray

I know how to FSOD myself, but I will never use it, and never tell anyone, if I wanna' play a game, I go on PSO, if I wanna' crash something, I'll boot up XP.

I actually see no harm if hes only replacing "Legit" items he got by legit means, I myself dupe items I lose by FSOD, but nothing more, I'v also duped for friends who also have had the same problem once they provided me legit proof they lost items, most I'v known long enough not to lie to me about it O.o Its just not right that people go into lobbies and FSOD just because they are "Bored" or find it entertaining, =/ why should legit and respectiable players lose items for circumstances beyond our control, or others? I feel that stepping in to help "Right" the "Wrong" by countering the FSOD with his method is plausable.

As hes guessed, there are glitches, I'v heard of rumors that can cause FSOD with changing text to Japanese in options, ect. I won't explain the method, so do not ask. If someone really needs a FSOD then they'll get FSOD'ed, but I'd have a "Good" reason to do it. I guess that'd make me a "white" FSOD'er? O.o lol
I'v only done it twice, and it was because some ass was FSODing people in lobbies, and 2 of them among the crowd were freinds of mine x.x I replaced lost items with some stuff suitable for their level, then smacked the FSOD'er with a FSOD, funny, most that FSOD have anti code. Newbs that call theselves "Gods" just because they can use AR or a glitch, amuse me.

Find me online normally in Alt/5/5 I normally play in that lobbie, I can replace your chainsawd ^^ To my experiance, its my favorate weapon, its very unique o.O I just love going all "Texas Chainsawd Massacre" with it <.< haha

I realise it's just a game, I will report it to Sega, then forget about it, if someone stole my Triton rack, then yeah, I'd go for them, but I woulnd't go out and steal another Triton rack and say "it's OK, I can justify it because someone stole it from me".

You will never be able to get through to a person who self-justifies it, but it's fun winding them up.

Dont sound so self righteous. Stealing isnt the same thing as making another, you arent taking it from someone else.

You've confused self righterousness with modesty, many people who try to justify duping their items and saying they're "backing them up", hate to think that maybe there is someone who respect the game that slight bit more than them.

It's OK, I don't care that you dupe, I just sit on God's right side when it comes to online games and not cheating or "duping", or for the sake of whiney "I'm not duping, I'm protecting myself, I'm legit" kiddies, "backing-up" items.

Really.. Who cares, no one ever uses them. You never use them unless you lose your items.
